Azerbaijani Canadians proudly raised the Azerbaijani flag for the last time in Toronto to mark the 108th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic — the first secular democracy in the Muslim world, founded in 1918.

Our flag is more than a national symbol; it embodies the values of freedom, dignity, independence, and the enduring resilience of the Azerbaijani people. As it rose above Toronto, it stood as a powerful reminder of our nation’s rich history, achievements, and unwavering spirit! 🇦🇿

A special thank you to our distinguished guests for their inspiring remarks and for joining us in celebrating this historic occasion:

Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Azerbaijan , Mr. Vusal Suleymanov

Member of Parliament for Don Valley West, and the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Member of Parliament Robert Oliphant

Consul General of the Republic of Turkiye Can Yoldas

Toronto City Councillor

Naznaz Sadigova

Farida Alakbarli and Anna Shahed from the Azerbaijani Canadian Youth Network

We were honoured to attend and support the re-election campaign event for Mayor . Vaughan hosts many diverse communities who contribute to the fabric of this vibrant city, and we are grateful to Mayor-elect Del Duca for his consistent work to ensure our safety, well-being, and cohesiveness as a wider Vaughan community. Stronger together.
A special thanks to Mayor-elect Del Duca’s team for the beautiful evening!

Əziz həmvətənlər,

Bildiyiniz kimi, Toronto şəhəri bu il bütün bayraq qaldırma mərasimlərinə qadağa qoymuşdu.

Bu il Respublika Gününü qeyd etmək üçün icazə almağı bacardıq! Bu, Toronto meriyasının qarşısında sonuncu bayraq qaldırma mərasimi ola bilər.

Hamınızı bu həyəcanlı və qürurverici anı bizimlə bölüşməyə dəvət edirik.

Xahiş edirik, qəlin, dövlət himnimizi oxuyun, bayraqımızın ucalmasına baxın, bu anı həmvətənlərinizlə yaşayın!

🇨🇦🇦🇿 Our Community, Our Voice

The Network of Azerbaijani Canadians (NAC) was honoured to be invited to and participate in a recent meeting of the Canada–Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group.

We are encouraged to see the group reactivated with 17 Members of Parliament and Senators, and to have the opportunity to bring forward perspectives that matter to Azerbaijani Canadians.

A key part of the discussion focused on our community here in Canada — who we are, how we are growing, and how we are represented.

This brings us to something important:

📊 With the upcoming Census, we encourage every Azerbaijani Canadian to participate and self-identify.
Being counted means being recognized — it strengthens our voice, supports community initiatives, and helps ensure our presence is reflected in decisions that affect us.

Let’s do our part — individually and collectively.
