ADHD Caregiver Education Day

October 26, 2026 9:00am – 3:30pm

The B.C. Provincial ADHD Clinic at BC Children’s Hospital and Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre are hosting (FREE) ADHD Parent Education Day on October 26, 2026.

The topics will be presented by the clinicians of the ADHD clinic, including our child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, social worker, and occupational therapist.

The day will include a wide range of topics from ADHD Basics, Treatment to Parenting, School & Executive Functioning, and Self-Regulation.

Changes in BC's Inclusive Education: A focus on IEP's

FREE Virtual 1-hour POPARD Family School Liaison Workshop

When? October 20, 2026 (12-1pm) (PST)

Where? Online (the Zoom link will be in your confirmation email- follow the link to register!)

Who? Veena Birring Hayer (MSW, RSW) with Provincial Outreach Program for Autism & Related Disorders (POPARD)

This workshop provides an overview of recent changes to B.C.’s Inclusive Education Manual, focusing on updates to Ministry designations and Individual Education Plan (IEP) guidelines. Participants will explore B.C.’s three Core Competencies—Communication, Thinking, and Personal and Social—and how they inform Competency-Based IEP goals and supports. The session will also provide practical strategies for parents to collaborate with schools in developing meaningful, student-centred IEPs.

This training is primarily intended for parents and families of students who are on the Autism spectrum, however educators and other professionals may attend.

We remain committed to listening, learning and taking meaningful steps towards reconciliation, today and throughout the year.
