Can you believe we are less than a week away from th first Skeena Valley's Farmers Market of 2026. Come join us from 9am (please no early birds).

We are delighted to have David Wells from Kitsumkalum, Chief Bennett from Kitselas and Mayor Sean Bujtas join us for some opening day acknowledments and remarks. After the speeches the Terrace Pipes and Drums Society will perform along Market Way. The weather is looking perfect for an opening market of the season. We look forward to welcoming everyone

Just a reminder that the Market is a dog free zone [service dogs exempt]. Please leave your furry friends at home when you visit. We'd also like to remind everyone that Market Way is closed to vehicles from 7am until 2pm each Saturday until the end of October - please plan accordingly if your vehicles is parked overnight there to avoid disrupting the market.

Today! Seed Swap and Gardening Fair on today at the Ksan Place.

Hello All,

This is a day to celebrate! You're invited to our annual Spring Gardening Fair and Seed Swap at Ksan Place ( #101-2812 Hall Street - next to the Men's Shelter) from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm this Saturday.

We've lined up 2 great workshops - Intro to Beekeeping (10.30 to 11:30) with Rob Schibli of Yellow House Honey, and Backyard Chickens (12:30 to 1:30 pm) with Angie Healey of Healey Family Farms. The workshops will be held in the main assembly room. They are free but donations are always welcome.

Easter Egg Painting for the Children and crafts and coloring (inside in the back room behind the kitchen) and for everyone else as well (thanks to Daybreak Farms for their donation of eggs and cartons) with the help of volunteers from Volunteer Terrace with Shochoy.

Rise-Up volunteers under Simran's direction (sponsored by the Public Health Association of BC) will be there to help you as needed and to learn more about the work they are doing in the community, including developing a TFA Farmers Survey.

Delicious soups prepared and served by Skeena Valley Seniors Society (by donation). Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available to keep you warm!

Seeds provided by Ksan Place - thanks to Kaitlin and Anna.

Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine raffle for either a rain barrel or compost container. Our thanks to RDKS.

A new local gardening book is in Terrace - speak to Norma Kerby who will be there with books to sell and talk about gardening. Norma will also have dahlia tubers.

Skeena Greens - with all kinds of healthy goodies and learning about these wonderful foods.

Vermiculture (Worms) with Whytedavey from Prince Rupert - a clean, easy composting way to use your veggie discards and support the earth in your garden.

HealeyFamily Farms- early plant starts, pickled veggies and more.

Terrace Community Garden (Green Thumb Garden Society) representatives will be there to answer your gardening questions and to see if you'd like a veggie lot to grow your own food in if you don't have access to a garden.

Men's Shed with cedar planters (wheelchair height accessible) and mason bee houses they have made in their spare time...

Terrace Beautification Society - filling us in on the super work they do to keep our community looking good and to encourage support and volunteers for Earth Day, coming up this month with their annual Sunday Garbathon.

Do hope you can drop in and see us and help plan your garden this spring. Dress warmly as most of the Fair is outside!
