My condolences to the Parmar family. We were so privileged to have such a prolific volunteer in our community. I met Nirmal briefly - he came to visit me after hearing about the Cheerful Flowers Project. I hope his story inspires others to carry on his volunteer work - he has certainly inspired me.

Nirmal Parmar passed away peacefully June 25, 2023 in Victoria, BC. He was born on July 25, 1939 in Quetta, Pakistan. His family was originally from Nadalon, Punjab, India. What's still in bloom in your garden?

I planted a bunch of gladiolus bulbs in the spring in a mix of colours. Some red, white, and peach have already finished blooming. This hot pink one is probably the last of the season.

It might be the last dry day for a while (at least here in Terrace...) so it is a good day to collect seeds from the garden.

I think I promised to share how I make packets for seeds...so here it is. This is my no glue or staples or tape required way of folding seed packets. It reminds me of folding paper cranes.
