After getting the proper permits in place and some hard work by our dedicated volunteers, the boat ramp at Duncairn Dam (north end) has been fixed up and the dock is in place.

We are GRASSLANDERS - A Campaign to Elevate Grasslands as a National Priority

America's Grasslands Coalition is an alliance of leading conservation organizations collaborating to elevate grasslands as a national conservation priority. They aim to inspire more people to discover, appreciate, and connect with the grasslands in their own states and communities. Because whether we realize it or not, we all depend upon and are connected to grasslands.

Grasslands are home to some of the most extraordinary wildlife in North America, including prairie grouse. They are the places people go to bird, hike, hunt, fish, forage, or just breathe. They are working lands, lived in and tended by Indigenous nations and ranching and farming families. And they aresources of clean water and store vast amounts of carbon below ground.

Yet, 47% of Americans have little to no knowledge of grasslands. But 68%, once they learn more, consider grasslands a critical ecosystem. And 71% report that they are likely to support grasslands conservation.

Learn more about this campaign, and find resources and stories at grasslanders.org Help spread the word to shine a spotlight on America's grasslands!

The Swift Current Wildlife Federation would like to confirm what many visitors have already noticed and inquired about. Unfortunately, we must announce that the dock traditionally installed at the north end of Reid Lake (Duncairn Dam) will not be placed for the 2026 summer season.
Over the past several winters, the boat launch adjacent to the dock has sustained significant damage. While we have made efforts to repair it, the extent of the work required is beyond what can reasonably be completed at this time. We are currently working with the Water Security Agency (WSA) to determine the requirements necessary to bring the launch into compliance with their standards.
We remain hopeful that a path forward can be found and that the launch can ultimately be repaired and restored for public use. However, there are regulatory requirements and approvals that must be addressed before any work can proceed.
We will continue to keep the public informed as progress is made. In the meantime, anyone choosing to use the launch in its current condition does so entirely at their own risk.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this process.
