A Little Thanksgiving Message From Our Compassion First Family

This Thanksgiving, we decided to do something a little different.

Instead of simply telling you what we're thankful for, we asked some of our amazing team members to share what Thanksgiving means to them and what they're grateful for. ❤️

Every day, we are reminded that it's not always the big things that matter most. It's the people, the connections, the laughter, the kindness, and the little moments that make life so special.

We are incredibly thankful for our dedicated staff, the individuals and families who trust us, and everyone who continues to support Compassion First.

Introducing Staff Appreciation Fridays at Compassion First! ❤️

We've decided that Fridays are going to be all about our amazing staff!

There are so many little things we notice throughout the week — acts of kindness, thoughtful gestures, creative ideas, and moments of genuine care — that we feel deserve to be shared.

So every Friday, we're going to shine a little spotlight on the people who make Compassion First what it is! ❤️

🌟 This week's shoutout goes to Jackson!

Just the other evening, we received a phone call from Jackson.

Was there a problem? Nope! 😂

He was calling because he had some exciting new ideas for his program and couldn't wait to share them!

It wasn't during work hours. Nobody had asked him to call. He simply cares so much about the individuals in his group that he's thinking of ways to make their experiences even better, even when he's home!

And THAT is something worth recognizing. ❤️

Jackson, thank you for your dedication, creativity, and the genuine care you show every day. We're so grateful to have you as part of our Compassion First family!

Here's to celebrating the little things that make a BIG difference! ❤️

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAN! 🎉

Today we have to give a big birthday shoutout to someone who does SO much behind the scenes at Compassion First.

Dan is the guy who hears, “So… I have an idea…” and probably already knows it means he’s about to be building, fixing, moving, picking up or figuring out something we’ve never tried before. 😂

From helping bring our crazy ideas to life, to supporting our staff and programs, to stepping in wherever he’s needed — Compassion First simply wouldn’t be what it is without him.

We are incredibly thankful for Dan and for the gifts God has given him to serve, lead and support the people around him. 💚

MEET THE GREAT OUTDOORS! 🏔️🌲

Our newest handcrafted sensory activity board is DONE and officially hanging — and it’s the first one at our Rec Centre! 🙌

The Great Outdoors is filled with tactile elements, different textures, fidgets and interactive pieces to touch, move, spin, open, explore and discover.

But there’s another part of this project that is really important to us. 💚

As we create our different sensory board designs, we want them on our own program walls too. We want the youth and adults who come through our programs to be able to use them, explore them and enjoy them every day.

And yes… our sensory boards are also available for purchase! ✨

Each board is handcrafted by our team with its own theme and unique combination of tactile, sensory and interactive features.

And there are already more coming…

🎟️ Access 2 Card Sign-Up Day – October 22nd! 🎟️

PEI ACL is pleased to be hosting an Access 2 Card Sign-Up Day to help individuals and families complete their applications at no cost to you!

📅 Thursday, October 22nd
⏰ 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
📍 Room 149, 40 Enman Crescent

The Access 2 Card is accepted at many participating entertainment, cultural, and recreational venues across PEI and Canada, helping make community activities more accessible.

Please note that applications will be processed after the October 22nd Sign-Up Day, and cards typically take approximately 4–6 weeks to arrive by mail.
