We spent a beautiful morning at the Ottawa Art Gallery yesterday with the City of Ottawa and Ottawa Tourism, and we’re honoured to be an Ottawa 200 grant recipient 🌈

There are so many incredible organizers, artists, and creatives shaping what this year will become. We can’t wait to support, celebrate, and experience it alongside you.

This fall, we’ll gather to honour 200 years of 2SLGBTQ+ stories in the Ottawa area.
The ones spoken.

An event organized by Mayday Canada on May 5 is promoting opposition to gender-affirming care for youth. We are also aware of a related information session hosted by WOCC on May 3 in support of this event.

We are sharing this so our community is informed.

Gender-affirming care is evidence-based and essential healthcare. Efforts to restrict it contribute to stigma and real harm.

Today, on Trans Day of Visibility, we recognize and uplift trans and nonbinary people while acknowledging the very real barriers they continue to face.

Visibility matters, but it must be matched with action. Everyone deserves access to safe spaces, proper healthcare, legal protection, and the right to live authentically without fear or discrimination.

At West Side Pride, we stand for inclusion, equity, and accountability. Supporting trans lives means listening, advocating, and pushing for meaningful change.
