BGC Stettler - Heartland Youth Center

Last month, over 200 Kinsmen, Kinettes, and Kin attended our community for a weekend of service, fellowship and fun.

We were extremely fortunate that a group of Kinettes came to our Club to do some chores off of our honey-do list, build center pieces for the Awesome Auction, and explore BGC - HYC! It was because this interaction, and maybe a little encouragement from our local Kin, that we were chosen as their charity of choice during KINvention!

Last week Jane attended the Stettler Kinsmen Club's meeting where, because of Kin generosity, we were awarded $5300! Thank you so much to every community member who advocated for us and shared the warmth of the Heart of Alberta with our visitors, as well as to all the Kin Clubs that donated! We are always so grateful for the support we receive so that we can continue to support local youth and provide them the opportunities they deserve 💚

We are finally on the tail end of wrapping up the 34th Annual Awesome Auction!🍋‍🟩🧂

This event is always a massive undertaking and we are truly grateful for all the support we receive in the form of donations, sponsorships, promotion, event attendance and of course volunteerism! We also want to thank the many teens that gave up their weekend to help! Without you all of this would not be possible 💚

June is also Men's Health Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness, promoting prevention, and improving the health and well-being of men and boys. Through this awareness, education and by utilizing accessible resources, we can combat the stigma surrounding male mental health in Alberta.

Tonight, BGC Canada will be cheering on BGC alumnus Taylor Hall as he takes the ice in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final.

From being a former BGC Club kid playing floor hockey in the gymnasium to his 70th NHL playoff game, Taylor Hall truly embodies positive change as a leader and role model in his community. Through the Taylor Hall Ball Hockey Classic and other community initiatives, he has helped raise more than $150,000 to support local BGC Club programs and create opportunities for young people.

We wish Taylor Hall the best of luck tonight with the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 5 of the !
