We got invited to the Erskine co****le tournament to bartend once again, and we had a great time. Things got so busy we forgot to take a picture. Thank you to the Erskine Curling Club for inviting us once again, and a huge thank you to the Erskine 4-H Beef Club for donating their tips to the Hospice Society. From the donation and the tips we raised $615. Thank you so much!

We will be selling burgers with all of the fixings at the 2nd annual Garden Party by donation. This will be held at the Stettler Brewing Company on June 27th, and we will be there from 4:00 to 8:00 on the BBQ. Thank you to Zen Place Yoga for inviting us to participate. A huge thank you to Baltimore Financial Services Limited for donating the food for us for the event. This is going to be a great time!

We had a course this weekend for palliative care training. What a fantastic course hosted by Betty George and Iska Hollman from Alberta Hospice Palliative Care . These ladies know their stuff and we all learned a lot from them. A huge thank you for them making this course fun. Chad Dalsin , Maureen M Drummond , Vicki Johnson Walstrom, and Mairead Lockhat from our board enjoyed the course. A big thank you to Carol Dyck for organizing all of this, and the Stettler United Church for helping us with the food and venue. Also thank you to everyone else that attended. We had over 40 people, so what a great turnout!

So great that Hometown Productions & Media took some time out to have a talk with Chad about the Hike for Hospice, 2026. Chad is on around the 12 minute mark, but the rest of the show also has some great topics, so check it out!

The 8th annual Hike for Hospice was another success. We managed to raise$13,525 with a big chunk of that being credited to the business/group challenge. The winner was The Attic Unisex Hair Design who raised around $5500 and a very close 2nd was the Flutter By's who raised around $3,580. The Flutter By's still managed to win the best dressed contest!

Thank you to all of the sponsors and volunteers that helped make this another great success.

We need to give a HUGE thank you to Atco Stettler! They had a fundraiser last year including a golf tournament, and a poker rally. Between these events and raising money within they raised $10,844.42 for the Stettler Hospice Society . Vicki and Chad went down to accept the cheque from Jen Friesen and Ebony Atkinson.

Are you passionate about our community, and maybe looking to get involved in a charity or non-profit? Do you love social media and creating content? Then you may be what we've been looking for.

We want to bring our social media to the next level, and keep our website current and up to date. We would like this person to join our board of directors to stay in the loop of everything going on, and take over our website and social media. Digital poster designing for us would be another huge help. This person would need to be available for our events to take photos etc. and will be a volunteer position.

Position Announcement — Service Coordinator, Stettler Hospice Society

The Stettler Hospice Society seeks a compassionate, organized Service Coordinator with a strong commitment to hospice care. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team to support families through challenging end-of-life circumstances and ensure high-quality, dignified care for guests.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a primary point of contact for families, coordinating care and resources with the hospice team.
Respond to phone inquiries and provide guidance; on-call availability is required for after-hours calls (after-hours volume is typically low).
Maintain accurate documentation and communications using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Monitor the hospice suite occupancy and adjust workload accordingly.

Time Commitment

Average workload is approximately 10 hours per week; hours may increase or decrease depending on guest needs and admissions.

Qualifications

Demonstrated compassion and professionalism in palliative or hospice-related roles.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and flexible scheduling.
