In honour of halloween month and check out this advertisement in the Telegram for the Wayfarers Club’s Halloween dance in 1961 🎃👻
According to oral history, the Wayfarers club on Duckworth street in St John’s was one of the city’s first unofficial q***r bars. Back at a time when it wasn’t even legal or safe for q***r people to gather, this club became a safe haven for community members to meet.
