Get those costumes ready! Halloween is almost here, and downtown Sidney is the place to be!

Join Peninsula Celebrations Society and Explore Sidney for another spooktacular evening of Halloween fun!

Beacon Avenue, Downtown Sidney

Bring your little ghosts, goblins, witches and superheroes for an evening of trick-or-treating and fantastic costumes!

Beacon Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic during the event to help keep our trick-or-treaters safe.

We can't wait to see all your amazing costumes!

As always, PCS events are smoke and v**e free.

We can’t wait to see Beacon Avenue filled with ghosts, goblins, superheroes, princesses and all the amazing costumes this year!

Who is the artist behind the beautiful “Sidney Pier” print we’re giving away at the Mary Winspear Centre’s 25th Anniversary Open House?

Meet Gordon Friesen!

Born in Vancouver and raised in rural Surrey, Gordon’s interest in art began with drawing and designing posters as a teenager. Inspired by the album cover art of the 1960s, he went on to study graphic design at the Kootenay School of Art.

As a graphic designer and illustrator, Gordon eventually found his artistic home in block printing, a traditional process that allows him to create without digital technology, specialized equipment or even electricity. The result is a distinctive contemporary art form rooted in a fascinating traditional process.

V Gallery & Framing in Sidney is proud to exhibit Gordon’s block prints, and we’re very grateful to them for generously donating his “Sidney Pier” print for our FREE DRAW at the PCS booth!

And remember, we’re printing ONLY 200 BALLOTS. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!

We’re getting closer to the Mary Winspear Centre’s 25th Anniversary Open House on September 19, and PCS is excited to be part of the celebration!

Come visit the Peninsula Celebrations Society booth, meet some of our volunteers, and learn more about the events PCS brings to our community throughout the year.

And make sure you get there early!

We’ll be holding a FREE DRAW for a beautiful Gordon Friesen print, “Sidney Pier”, generously donated by V Gallery & Framing in Sidney.

We’re printing ONLY 200 BALLOTS. Once those 200 ballots are gone, the draw is closed!

We’d also like to take this opportunity to tell you a little more about the local business that made our draw possible.

V Gallery & Framing, known for the past 40 years as The Village Gallery, has a fresh look and a new owner, Michelle A. Ford, MA Fine Art. The Mary Winspear Centre is turning 25, and the Peninsula Celebrations Society will be there to help celebrate!

Join us on Saturday, September 19 as the Mary Winspear Centre marks 25 years at the heart of our community.

Stop by the PCS booth, say hello, and find out what we have coming up this Fall and Winter. From Halloween fun to the Sidney Sparkles Christmas Parade and beyond, there’s lots to look forward to!

And while you’re there, make sure you enter our special FREE DRAW. We’ll have a beautiful Gordon Friesen print, “Sidney Pier,” generously donated by V Gallery & Framing, up for grabs.

THAT’S A WRAP!

What a fantastic way to close out the 2026 Summer Sounds Concert Series!

A huge thank you to The Timebenders for bringing their incredible energy, music, costumes and fun to Beacon Park. You had the crowd singing, dancing and smiling from beginning to end. It was the perfect grand finale to an amazing summer!

Thank you as well to everyone who joined us throughout the season. Whether you attended one concert or all eight, your enthusiasm helped make every Sunday special.

Of course, Summer Sounds would not be possible without our generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, talented performers and everyone who worked behind the scenes to bring these concerts to our community. We are incredibly grateful for your support.

Eight Sundays. Eight terrific bands. One unforgettable summer.

SUMMER SOUNDS GRAND FINALE!

How did we get here already?

After seven fantastic Sundays of music, dancing, sunshine and some pretty incredible crowds, Summer Sounds 2026 is heading into its GRAND FINALE!

And we’re going out with a party.

THE TIMEBENDERS are taking over Beacon Park this Sunday!

The Timebenders don’t just play the hits - they take you on a musical trip through the decades. From the classics that started it all to the songs that filled dance floors and defined generations, this band knows how to put on a show.

If you've seen The Timebenders before, you already know.

If you haven't... this is your chance!

Now THAT was some Fleetwood Magic!

A huge thank you to Fleetwood Magic for an incredible afternoon at Beacon Park on Sunday!

From the music and soaring vocals to the costumes and stage presence, you brought the sounds and spirit of Fleetwood Mac to the Saanich Peninsula and gave us another Summer Sounds performance to remember. What a show!

And once again, a massive THANK YOU to our Beacon Park audience! You came out in force and helped create the energy that makes these Sunday afternoons so special. Seeing the park filled with people enjoying live music together is what Summer Sounds is all about.

Of course, none of these concerts happen without our Summer Sounds sponsors and volunteers. Thank you for continuing to make this free community concert series possible.

And suddenly...we're down to ONE!

This Sunday marks the final Summer Sounds concert of 2026. We'll be back in Beacon Park for one more afternoon of live music, and we'd love to fill the park one last time!

Stay tuned — we'll have more on our grand finale later this week.
