Tanner Steffler Foundation

Tanner Steffler Foundation Mission:

We will educate parents, caregivers, community members and politicians through advocacy and presentations within the municipalities of Huron County.

TSF aims to enhance and improve mental health and addiction resources and support networks for youth between the ages of 12-29 within Huron & Perth Counties through support, advocacy, education and more. We will work with the separate and public Board of Education so that appropriate mental health and addiction specialists are able to work within each school on a full-time basis to support student

needs. We will have a Youth Council that will provide us with voice and direction to best support their needs. Youth will be active participants in the growth and setting the direction of the Tanner Steffler Foundation. We will create a website and mobile application specific to our youth that will provide local resources, media releases, education by way of videos, podcasts, blogs and online chats with trained mental health specialists 24 hours a day. We will build and sustain an evidence based Youth Addiction Treatment & Mental Health Resource and Wellness Facility in Huron County for our youth and their families.

What a fantastic day on the course! ⛳️

A huge thank you to Captain Harry's for once again choosing to support the Tanner Steffler Foundation through their annual charity golf tournament. Their continued commitment to youth mental health and addiction means so much to us, and we are incredibly grateful for their ongoing support year after year.

Taylor and Lexi had the privilege of attending this year's tournament and spending the day connecting with the many amazing community members who came out to support our cause. It was wonderful to share conversations, hear stories, and see so many people rally behind youth mental health and substance use challenges.

Thank you to Captain Harry's for your generosity and dedication, and thank you to everyone who stopped by, chatted with us, and helped make the day such a success. Your support is helping us continue to make a difference in the lives of young people in our community.

Yesterday, TSF staff had the incredible opportunity to support a local youth initiative making a real difference in our community.

Jayda Mitchell, a CHSS student, along with the help of Ms. Greg, created “Helping Hands,” a free hygiene and clothing pantry for CHSS students to access completely free of charge. TSF was proud to donate hygiene products to help support this amazing initiative.

Thank you to Jayda and Ms. Greg for your compassion, leadership, and commitment to helping others. We love seeing youth take action and create positive change, and TSF will always support initiatives like this however we can.

A special thank you as well to Elliot’s Liquidation for the original donation of hygiene items that helped make this possible!

Start off your summer right with an amazing learning opportunity 💚💙 We have limited space available for our upcoming ASIST training (Applied Su***de Intervention Skills Training), June 3-4 at Community Living Central Huron in Goderich, ON!

TSF is offering this training subsidized at $125/participant (Training often runs $200+ per participant), with the support of MutualONE Insurance!

Applied Su***de Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a 2-day workshop for individuals who want to feel more comfortable & confident in helping to prevent the immediate risk of su***de.

In doing an ASIST workshop, you'll learn how to recognize when someone may be thinking about su***de, and how to provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan with the person to connect them to further support.

You will also consider how personal and community attitudes about su***de affect someone’s openness to seek help and your ability to provide it.
This workshop will increase your willingness, confidence, and capacity to provide su***de first aid. Two knowledgeable, supportive trainers will guide you through the course, ensuring a comfortable and safe learning environment.

If you are interested in attending this amazing training, please message us on Instagram or Facebook, visit our website or email us at [email protected].

We hope to see you there!
