Another successful bird walk for 14 Lambton Wildlife Members tonight! Over 30 bird species were seen, including a Whip-poor-will, which is more often heard than seen. Many thanks to our leader Tom, who found this treasure for us!

The Kestrel is the bird on our emblem, which we recognized in our photo contest this year.

If you attended hosted by our friends at Bird Friendly Sarnia, you had the chance to meet a real live kestrel!

Aren’t they beautiful!?

Special thanks to Bluewater Centre For Raptor Rehabilitation for bringing him!

See you there!

📣 FREE PUBLIC EVENT

Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day in Sarnia with a free community event at the Canatara Park Carriage House.

📅 Saturday, May 9
⏰ 9am–12pm
📍 Canatara Park – Carriage House

Located along the shores of Lake Huron, Sarnia sits on an important migration route used by thousands of birds each year. This free, family-friendly event is a chance to experience spring migration firsthand and learn how local actions can help protect migratory birds.

This year’s theme is:
“Every Bird Counts – Your Observations Matter!”

Event highlights include:
• Free copies of the newly reprinted Huron Shore Flyway birding guide
• Meet Regal Eagle and volunteers from the Bluewater Centre for Raptor Rehabilitation
• Bird-friendly activities and games for children
• Binoculars available to borrow
• Opportunities to connect with local conservation organizations and learn how to support birds at home

As part of Nature Canada’s Bird Friendly City program, Bird Friendly Sarnia is proud to collaborate with the City of Sarnia and community partners to help create a safer environment for migratory birds and wildlife.

No experience needed. Everyone is welcome.
