Books & Bling sale is happening in just 3 weeks!

The Salt Spring Literacy Society Members Preview Night is also taking place on Thursday, November 5 at the Farmers’ Institute from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Members who attend this special preview party will enjoy delicious appetizers – with ingredients generously donated by Country Grocer -- created by Chef Mark Kilner and his students from the GISS Culinary Program as well as a glass of w**e and other non-alcoholic refreshments. Attendees will also get an opportunity to view and purchase what’s for sale before the event is open to the public.

Next Friday, October 16th at 11am is our monthly Indigenous Story Time. Eartha Linnell will be reading children's books written and illustrated by Indigenous writers and artists. Come by with your kiddos to learn about the traditions and cultures of First Nations, Metis and Inuit communities on Turtle Island! Stay after for some fun crafting with Daphne!

Always busy at Literacy!

October is a full month for literacy. It's Learning Disabilities Awareness Month, Health Literacy Month, Canadian Library Month and Cyber Security Awareness Month.

All four come back to the same idea: everyone deserves information they can understand and use.
This month we'll share tips, stories and free resources for learners, families and the people who support them. Follow along.

𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗗𝗮𝘆!

At The Circle Education, we’ve been welcomed into classrooms by many teachers in our school district over the past 30 years.

We thank them for going above and beyond every day. Not only teaching the next generation academics, but also serving as mentors, advocates and counselors for their students, supporting their social-emotional well-being.

We know that a compassionate teacher can make a difference in the life of a child or young person.
