THANK YOU, Salt Spring! 💜

On October 6, our community came together at Stowel Lake Farm for our $10,000 for Change Fundraiser, and we reached our goal! We are so grateful.

Heartfelt thanks to Stowel Lake Farm, Sweetgrass Food Co., Voyage Liquor, Vivezza Vineyard, and the Garden Experience program at The Cedars, and to every guest, donor, and sponsor who helped make the evening possible.

🧡 Tomorrow, September 30th, is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡

We respectfully and gratefully acknowledge that IWAV is located on the unceded traditional territories of the Hul'qumi'num- and SENĆOŦEN-speaking peoples.

Our administrative office and the Transitions Thrift Store will be closed tomorrow in honour of this day.

We encourage everyone to attend a free community event hosted by the Coastal Blood Singers, from 12–3 pm at Fernwood Dock and Cafe Flora.

Wednesday, September 30th is National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.

Come on out to this free community event from 12pm-3pm being held at Fernwood Dock and Cafe Flora. Hosted by the Costal Blood Singers.

There will be a BBQ Fundraiser provided. No chairs are provided, bring your own if you'd like.

In July, things were quiet at the Salt Spring Island Transition House. Then, on a single day in August, we received 11 crisis calls. Within three days, every room was full again with women and their children.

The need for our services never goes away, and we have to be ready when Islanders need us. That readiness depends on community support. Here are two ways you can help this fall:

💜 Become a monthly donor: as little as $5 a month helps keep programs like The Cedars running. Sign up before October 6 to be entered in a draw for a gift basket valued at over $200 and a $50 gift card, donated by Rock Salt Restaurant and Cafe and Salt Spring Mercantile.

🍽️ Join us October 6 at Stowel Lake Farm for our 8th Annual $10,000 for Change Supper, with all proceeds supporting The Cedars. We have 20 tickets left to sell to reach our goal!
