Hey everyone!

You are all invited to come on down to the Salt Spring Legion this Tuesday November 18th at 7pm. GIHA is hosting a get-together for anyone who wants to come out and meet other horsey-minded people. If you have been wondering how to get involved in GIHA, this is a great chance to come and meet other members.
The kitchen will be cooking up some great food, and it's Country Music open mic night so we hope to do a little dancing, too. If any of you know line-dancing maybe you'd be up for teaching others some boot-scooting steps. Looking forward to a fun night of socializing, dinner, beverages, and horse talk!

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions - 250-537-3600

Hope to see you there :)

Chris Steffich - GIHA Vice Chair and Secretary

GIHA members show off newly purchased tractor!

Gulf Islands Horse Association members Sue Higgs, Patricia Lockie, Mary Ackenhausen, Lynn Bissett and Dan Lennox stand proudly next to a new eco-friendly electric lawn tractor purchased with funds donated by local donors to our Sport BC fund, as well as a generous grant from Horse Council BC. This purchase will make maintaining the arena's sand footing and the surrounding grassy areas much easier to achieve. Many thanks to Daniel Van Koughnett, Barry Dunster, Sue Higgs, Lucy Sliwowska, Juliana Brossollette, Bill Stewart, Laura Romano, Mary and Dan Ackenhausen, Laurie Bradley and family, Kim McIntyre, Lucy Austin, Jacqueline Sutton, Dan Lennox, and countless other volunteers, contractors, and donors past and present for helping to repair and maintain the arena and surrounding infrastructure in past years. We look forward to many more happy moments of celebrating improvements to our community riding arena.
