Tonight on The Members’ Voice, hosts Nick London and Wes Wills continue their examination of Bill C-39 and what it could mean for workers, unions, and communities across Canada. With growing discussion surrounding the legislation, the program will feature several perspectives and updates to help viewers better understand the potential impact on working people.

The show will include commentary and analysis from Unifor National President Lana Payne, along with another important update from Mark Hancock, offering insight into issues affecting workers across the country.

Also on tonight's agenda, we'll shine a spotlight on CUPE 4386 and discuss the ongoing fight for fairness in the healthcare sector. In recognition of Health Care Provider Week, CUPE 5430 is calling on members and supporters to take action with a Day of Action at the Saskatchewan Legislature on October 28, as healthcare workers continue their push for a fair collective agreement.

Tonight on The Members’ Voice, we bring viewers a full slate of important updates from across the labour movement in Atlantic Canada.

We begin with the ACORN New Brunswick Press Conference, highlighting the voices of tenants, advocates, and community organizers pushing for stronger protections and meaningful change.

We then turn to today’s Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 4386 media release, where workers at the Corner Brook Civic Centre continue their fight for fair wages and respect on the job. Members have voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action, citing low pay and rising living costs, and are now in a legal strike position as conciliation efforts continue.

We’re also joined by Ann Marie Danch, Regional Vice President for CUPE Nova Scotia (Central Area), who shares insight on current issues facing CUPE members across the province.

To close the show, we revisit the October 15, 2026 rally, where CUPE members and supporters gathered to raise their voices for fairness, solidarity, and the rights of workers throughout the region.

For those who can’t attend or may miss the event, we’re opening the doors wide — ensuring every worker has access to the conversations shaping our future.

This town hall is entirely focused on Bill C‑39 and the growing national movement to defend our fundamental right to strike. Labour leaders, activists, and workers from coast to coast are coming together to speak out, organize, and push back against legislation that threatens the core of free collective bargaining.

We’ll be broadcasting live throughout the evening with updates, reactions, and key moments as they happen — amplifying the voices of CUPE, the CLC, and all unions standing united in this fight.

This new bill is a massive red flag for our basic rights. They are trying to wipe out our power to fight for fair wages with the snap of a finger. It is frustrating to see them use cheap excuses to prioritize corporate interests over actual people. We cannot let them prioritize profits over our livelihoods. https://social.cupe.ca/s/RMTpiLIV
