The Saanich Peninsula Hospital & Healthcare Foundation is a registered charity that raises funds in support of the Saanich Peninsula Hospital.

The Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation has been raising funds to support our hospital for 25 years. And it's been 32 years since the Acute Care wing of the hospital was opened (the Extended Care wing opened four years earlier, in 1974). So much has been accomplished in that time, but so much remains to be done. It's our hospital, and it needs to be technologically up-to-date and relevant to the needs of our community.

Today, we celebrated our annual Scary Slice staff appreciation event at Saanich Peninsula Hospital, where the SPHHF team served up delicious pizza from Peninsula PIZZA as a thank you to the hardworking hospital staff who care for our community every day.

Staff appreciation events like these provide an opportunity to bring people together, take a well-deserved break and remind our healthcare teams how much their hard work and dedication are valued.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we're able to create these moments of appreciation throughout the year. A big thank you to everyone who joined us today, and to the incredible staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital!

A big thank you to the Central Saanich Lawn Bowls Club for their generosity and community spirit! Through their recent Charity Cup event, the club raised $3,275 in support of Saanich Peninsula Hospital & Healthcare Foundation.

Last week, SPHHF Board Director Ted Daly had the pleasure of meeting with club members to accept their generous donation and thank them for their support.

Community Fundraising Initiatives like the Charity Cup are a wonderful reminder of the difference local groups can make when they come together for a shared cause. We are grateful to everyone who helped organize, participate in and support this event, helping us continue to enhance health care for patients and families across the Saanich Peninsula.

Thank you to the Central Saanich Lawn Bowls Club for choosing to support local health care!

Celebrate the Harvest at Firbank Farm on Saturday, October 3! This family-friendly event is being hosted by Firbank Farm as a Community Fundraising Initiative in support of the Saanich Peninsula Hospital & Healthcare Foundation.

Children can pick and decorate a pumpkin, with all materials provided, and enjoy pumpkin-themed games including pumpkin bowling and pumpkin golf. Decorated pumpkins and handmade crafts will also be available for purchase, and the farm will be dressed for the season with plenty of fall décor to enjoy.

Some of the most meaningful Community Fundraising Initiatives start with a simple idea and a desire to give back. For the second summer in a row, Meredith set up her own lemonade stand in support of Saanich Peninsula Hospital & Healthcare Foundation, raising an incredible $180 this year, more than double the $60 she raised last summer.

Meredith recently stopped by the Foundation to present her donation to Heather, and we loved having the opportunity to thank her in person. We are grateful to Meredith for once again choosing to support local health care, and to everyone who stopped by her stand and contributed.

Community Fundraising Initiatives come in all shapes and sizes, from lemonade stands and community events to creative fundraisers organized by local businesses, groups and individuals. Every initiative is a wonderful example of our community coming together to support Saanich Peninsula Hospital and local health care.

Thank you, Meredith, for showing just how much a great idea and a generous spirit can accomplish.
