Saanich Peninsula Hospital & Healthcare Foundation The Saanich Peninsula Hospital & Healthcare Foundation is a registered charity that raises funds in support of the Saanich Peninsula Hospital.

The Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation has been raising funds to support our hospital for 25 years. And it's been 32 years since the Acute Care wing of the hospital was opened (the Extended Care wing opened four years earlier, in 1974). So much has been accomplished in that time, but so much remains to be done. It's our hospital, and it needs to be technologically up-to-date and relevant to the needs of our community.

A warm day called for a refreshing treat at Saanich Peninsula Hospital today as SPHHF hosted a staff appreciation event for our hardworking hospital team.

Lemon Heaven Victoria was onsite serving a delicious selection of lemonade to staff throughout the afternoon as a small gesture of thanks for all they do to care for our community.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are able to create moments of appreciation that help staff feel valued and supported. Caring for those who care for our community is important, and we were grateful to share this fun and refreshing afternoon together.

Thanks to the support of our donors, SPHHF funded a new laser system costing $96,477.22 to help provide advanced eye care at Saanich Peninsula Hospital. Already in use, the technology is helping physicians deliver more efficient treatment for patients, including urgent vision-saving procedures requiring immediate care.

Dr. Patrick Yang, Surgical Site Chief at Saanich Peninsula Hospital, shared his gratitude for the Foundation and donors who helped bring the equipment to the Peninsula community. “It is fantastic that we have this laser here to treat patients, especially in the cases of angle closure glaucoma, which is an emergency that needs to be treated right away,” said Dr. Yang. “It will serve the local community and beyond for many years to come.”

Thank you to Corporal Pat Bryant from the Central Saanich Police Department for joining us at Norgarden in Sidney today for our Four Seasons Community Café. He shared valuable information on how to recognize and avoid common scams.

It was wonderful to see such a great turnout from our community for this informative and engaging morning. Guests enjoyed coffee, tea, cookies, conversation, and practical tips to help stay safe and informed in today’s digital and financial landscape.

We are also grateful to Norgarden for generously providing the space and refreshments for this special event.

After receiving exceptional care from Dr. Kwasnica at Saanich Peninsula Hospital, a grateful donor made a gift to the Foundation in appreciation of the care she received.

When Dr. Kwasnica shared a simple request to replace the staff basketball hoop used during breaks for fresh air, movement, and connection, that generosity helped make it happen. Now, staff have a renewed space to recharge and take a moment for wellness during busy days caring for our community.

It’s because of the generosity of donors that meaningful moments like this continue to support the wellbeing of staff and patients at Saanich Peninsula Hospital. ❤
