What a beautiful Saturday by the lake with our Rising Above participants and staff!

We enjoyed sunshine, laughter, games, great conversations, and a delicious BBQ prepared by Matt. Days like this remind us how special it is to come together, build community, and celebrate the joy of simply being outside with good people.

The highlight of the day was seeing our chef Matt take the next step in his faith journey by getting baptized right there in the lake. What a powerful and unforgettable moment!

Over the past year, Brent has faithfully walked alongside men as they work toward growth, stability, and positive change. Through encouragement, goal-setting, and accountability, he has helped create space for men to take meaningful steps forward in their lives.

Saturday was a special day as we celebrated two years of operating in Peterborough and 17 graduates who have done the hard work of turning their lives around and allowing God to transform them.

We’re grateful for the outpouring of support, including visits from Police Chief Betts, Mayor Leal, Patrick Carter from MP Emma Harrison’s office, along with several municipal election candidates. Rising Above was honoured to receive certificates from Mayor Leal and City Council, as well as from Emma Harrison’s office, recognizing two years of service to Peterborough and the surrounding community.

Current participants, graduates, staff, and volunteers welcomed guests, shared their stories, and offered insight into the Rising Above program.

🎉 Today we are so grateful to celebrate Wendy's two-year work anniversary with Rising Above! 🎉

Over the past two years, Wendy has poured so much compassion, dedication, and heart into her role as our Women’s Rising Above Advocate. She has walked alongside women with kindness, encouragement, and genuine care, helping them feel seen, supported, and valued.

Her advocacy makes a lasting difference in the lives of the women we serve, her teaching helps all our participants grow and her presence is such a meaningful part of our Rising Above community.

Thank you Wendy for two beautiful years of service, leadership, and love in action. We are truly blessed to have you on our team. Congratulations on this wonderful milestone!

Two years ago today, Rising Above Peterborough opened our doors — and what an incredible two years it has been as God has transformed lives and 15 individuals have graduated from the program.

We are so grateful for the support, encouragement, partnerships, and community connections that have helped us grow and continue this important work. Thank you to everyone who has walked alongside us, believed in our mission, and helped make Rising Above Peterborough what it is today.

As we celebrate this milestone, we also want to remind everyone about our celebration event this Saturday! We’d love for you to join us as we mark two years of opening our doors, building community, and looking ahead to what’s next.

There will be opportunity to connect with our staff and participants to hear about who we are and stories of the work Rising Above is doing in our community.
