Don't miss your chance to win $50,000 or more in Penticton!!!

A major charitable 50/50 in Penticton has returned for a second year, with organizers announcing a guaranteed minimum jackpot of $100,000—ensuring the winning ticket holder will take home at least $50,000.

The raffle is a joint fundraiser between the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation and the Feedway Foundation’s Penticton Breakfast Program. Proceeds from this year’s draw will support initiatives focused on improving the health and well-being of local children.

The SOS Medical Foundation said its share of the funds will be dedicated to enhancing maternal care, labour and delivery services at Penticton Regional Hospital, while the Feedway Foundation will use proceeds to expand its school breakfast program and help address food insecurity among students.

The fundraiser follows a successful inaugural campaign last year, when Penticton resident Josiah Baran won more than $25,000.

Tickets are now on sale online through the raffle website, with a live jackpot tracker available for participants. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Feedway Foundation, the SOS Medical Foundation and local Tickleberry’s locations.

2026 Grad Sessions!!!!

Now that I have your attention, I keep getting asked how the sessions work. How long they are, what they are about and if there are any restrictions or limitations on them.

Well sit back and let me bring you back to the sun dappled slopes of 2020.

During the pandemic, the schools were shut down. Like everything. This meant that not only did our graduating classes not get to dress up and celebrate, it also meant that a large number of kids who relied on the school day to get a solid meal through the various meals programs that are available through the district.

During that shut down, a large number of volunteers actually still made these meals and dropped them off to kids and families in need. They did so until the money ran out and that's where organizations like The Feedway Foundation and it's incredible volunteers came in to play.

These sessions came about to not only celebrate our incredible youth, but to also ensure that so many kids in need get the opportunity to get a good meal. A legacy project that sees our graduating classes leaving behind not only the memories they made and the people they impacted but also ensuring that the next group of students doesn't have to worry about having enough food to survive the day.

Over the past 5 years (yes this is the 6th year) I have managed to raise over $10,000 for the SD.67 meals programs and The Feedway Foundation and while I am taking less bookings for these events I am still thrilled to be meeting some amazing families and the incredible people they've nurtured through this stage of their lives.

So the details:

This year we are shooting almost exclusively at Linden Gardens and on a per group basis at the incredible Summerland Heritage Cider orchards in Trout Creek.

Your session fee is $225.00 for 30-45 minutes; and includes 10 images of your grad, your family or their friends. There is no limit to any group sizes and you can always purchase additional images and albums/prints if you'd like.

Thank you for choosing the Feedway Foundation again as the recipient of your grad photos for charity!!

-------------------
Who: Grads in the South and Central Okanagan. middle school, high school and post secondary from Westbank through Osoyoos. In support of The Feedway Foundation that helps feed so many kids in the area during school.

Why: In 2020 the "global event" we don't talk about happened ad it left the graduating class high and dry. No party, no event and after spending 12 years n the school system many of them had already purchased gowns and suits.

But also, during that "event" volunteers across the Penticton area stepped up and their efforts ensured that those kids at risk of going hungry, had hot meals delivered to them and their families. So this program came about to not only celebrate our graduating students, but also to ensure that no child in our area had to worry about being hungry during school and with the help of The Feedway Foundation

When: From now until prom night 3 to 4 days a week morning, noon or night this program will be running t ensure we create some amazing memories for this years graduating classes and their families

Where: This year I held out in hopes of finding another rustic barn to work in, but couldn't so instead, the amazing people at the Summerland Heritage Cider and Linden Gardens have stepped up and offered us the allowance of shooting in their orchard (date and event dependent) and their gardens.

If you have not been to either location the best time to visit is right now. Both areas are beautiful in their own ways and will showcase every grad and family we work with this year.

So feel free to reach out, spread the word and a massive congratulations to the graduating classes of 2026 and the families who helped get you all there

Thanks and ever thanks to the venues that allow us to shoot on their grounds and the volunteers who make programs like this possible.

Thank you for the story Castanet! And yes, BGB will be back in 2026 - we can’t wait!

------------------

Business Gives Back is officially returning this fall, with organizers announcing the highly anticipated event will take place on Friday, Nov. 27, 2026.

Following the overwhelming success of last year’s fundraiser, the team says they are excited to once again bring the community together for an afternoon of generosity, connection, and support for local causes.

The 2025 Business Gives Back event raised an incredible $165,700, thanks to the support of local businesses, sponsors, and community members.
Held on Nov. 28, 2025 at the Barking Parrot in Penticton, the luncheon and auction drew a full house of attendees, all eager to give back. From generous cash donations to a wide range of live and silent auction items, the level of community involvement was remarkable.

“On behalf of our entire organizing team, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported Business Gives Back,” said Feedway Foundation president Johnny Aantjes. “Whether through sponsorship, donations, attending the event, or volunteering, every contribution helped make a meaningful impact.”

He said the atmosphere in the room spoke volumes about the community’s spirit.
“The generosity we saw that day was truly incredible. These funds allow the Feedway Foundation to continue expanding its reach and supporting organizations that are doing important work throughout our region. We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make it happen.”

Funds raised were distributed to a wide range of local organizations supporting youth, families, and community initiatives across the South Okanagan.

The $165,700 was distributed to the following organizations:

SD67 Schools (all schools in the district) / Penticton Breakfast Club
Junior Chamber International - Penticton
ALERT - Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team
Discovery House
Carmi Recreational Trails Society
Keremeos Community Church
Critteraid
JumpStart
SOWINS
United Way
Cadets (788 Dragoons Royal Canadian Army Cadets / 259 Squadron Royal Canadian Air Cadets)
Happy Tails Cat Rescue Society
AlleyCats Alliance
The Foundry Penticton Youth Centre
Agur Lake Camp
Dragonfly Pond Society
School District 53 (SD53) Travelling Library

Organizers say the continued support from sponsors, donors, and attendees is what makes the event possible year after year.

With plans already underway for 2026, the team says they are looking forward to building on that momentum and hosting another impactful event this November.
More details, including ticket information and sponsorship opportunities, will be shared in the coming months. In the meantime, the community is encouraged to follow along on social media and support the businesses that help make Business Gives Back a success.
