Local Author Supports Penticton Breakfast Club Through Children's Books
Local author and volunteer Katherine (Kate) Hansen is combining her love of children's literature with a desire to give back to the community.
Families are invited to purchase one or both of her children's books, What's the Deal With Thanksgiving? and What's the Deal With Halloween?, for $10 each or $20 for both.
All profits from the book sales will go directly to the Penticton Breakfast Club, helping ensure local children begin their school day with a healthy breakfast, ready to learn and succeed.
The initiative celebrates three important goals: supporting local children, encouraging literacy, and giving back to the community.
Families wishing to participate are asked to send payment with their child to participating schools by October 23rd, with books being delivered on October 28th.
Books can also be purchased at The Dragon's Den gift store, located at 12 Front Street in Penticton, or at Artisans of the Okanagan, located at 13211 Victoria Road in Summerland.
Through this initiative, Kate hopes to show that a good story can do more than entertain — it can help build a brighter future for children in our community!
