On Sunday, September 20th, God graced the Okanagan Motorcycle Riders and all the volunteers with beautiful weather, quite an improvement over 2025.

We’re so appreciative and thankful for the OMRA organizing committee and to all our sponsors. A special shoutout to the Rotary Club “noon team” for their partnership and the use of their 2 grills. Our supporters were generous with both financial and toy donations. Thank you so much.

All the proceeds will go to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in support of the food insecurity programs in our community, particularly our Christmas Hamper Program with gifts of toys for the kids.

Recognize this familiar face? 💙

Many of you may know me as Carole, the former manager of the KWS Thrift Store. My years there gave me such a beautiful opportunity to serve our community, and I’m incredibly grateful for the people I met, the relationships I built, and everything I learned along the way.

When I was offered the opportunity to do it all again — to help build something new and find even more ways to support people in our community — my heart said YES!!

Chez Vincent has a huge heart, and I truly believe we are going to do amazing things together.

As I begin this next chapter, I’ve also chosen to use my middle name, Maggie. It brings me joy, it feels like me, and somehow it just feels right for this new beginning.

So, whether you know me as Carole or are meeting me for the first time as Maggie, I can’t wait to welcome you to Chez Vincent Thrift Store.

New name. New chapter. Same heart for community. 💙

The Okanagan Particular Council of The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is pleased to announce they have secured a space for their 100% Charitable Chez Vincent Thrift Store in Kelowna. They are still seeking volunteers with construction management and trades skills for demolition work and leasehold improvements.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Now that a location is in place they begin the search for a Store Manager. This dynamic and experienced leader can expect a salary in the range of $55k - $65k, depending on qualifications, with an estimated start date of August 2026. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is pleased and honoured to accept a $15,000 grant from the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen Annual Grant Program which included funds from the City of Penticton - Municipality Municipal Grants Fund. We are so grateful for the support of our programs that provide assistance to residents of Penticton.

For over thirty years, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul has delivered weekly food hampers to individuals and families in need throughout our community. On average, we visit twenty-five households each week, providing a variety of fresh and non-perishable food items.

Each Christmas our outreach expands significantly as we prepare and deliver more than 350 festive hampers filled with food and holiday cheer on the Saturday before Christmas Day. Our volunteer base swells to include families, youth groups, community groups, and individuals eager to share in the spirit of giving.

In recent months, we have seen a growing number of requests for assistance—both from our regular clients and new families reaching out for the first time. In addition to food support, we are now receiving more appeals for help with rent and utility bills.

These funds will help us meet the rising demand for food hampers and financial assistance within our community. Thank you for your support.

Thank you to everyone that supported our local conference of St. Vincent de Paul in 2025. Last year we were able to deliver 1,339 food hampers for those in need in our community as well as offering rental support and other assistance such as utility bills, medical assistance, etc.

We also assembled and delivered 357 Christmas hampers, serving 640 adults, 372 children, and 105 teens. Each hamper contained food for their pantry, Christmas breakfast, Christmas dinner (including a ham or turkey), toys and gift cards for all children and teens, as well as a small gift for each adult.

Without our community's generous support of financial, food and/or volunteer time, we certainly wouldn't be able to provide these blessings to our community.

Thank you again and may God's blessings give us all hope and joy in the year ahead.

With great blessings from God, so many generous volunteers and donors have made another Christmas Hamper Campaign a great success.

It took months of planning, a week of intense preparation, but only 2 hours to deliver the roughly 350 hampers!

To those who helped all week to prepare the hampers, and to the army of delivery elves that hit the roads this morning, we send a huge Thank You, a Merry Christmas, and may God Bless you.

We are rapidly approaching what we affectionately refer to as Hamper Week: the week-long activities of receiving and assembling into hampers all the purchased and donated goods. It all begins on Saturday, December 13th and run until the following Saturday, December 20th, when an army of drivers heads out into the community to deliver these gifts of Christmas to about 350 households in about 2 hours!
