Just a reminder that St. Joseph's Community Food Bank will be closed on Monday September 7th for Labour Day. We will re-open on Tuesday September 8th at 9 am.

A huge thank you to Lowanna and staff at Pet Valu, Pembroke for a truck load of dog and cat food plus some extra goodies. The family pets of the clients at the Food Bank should be giving you a “paw shake” with much gratitude. You are awesome!

The City of Pembroke and participants of Yoga in the Park (White Pine Yoga) donated 3 bags of food and $190.25 to the Food Bank last week. Thank you so much for your support as we continue to assist those with food insecurity.

Kathy Hammel of the Ghost Town Cryers presented the Food Bank with 244 pounds of food and over $960 from the proceeds of their 4th annual food drive on the waterfront. We thank the band for their commitment to the food bank and all the generous donors
for their help in feeding families in Pembroke.

My FM has concluded another wildly successful food drive to benefit charities who support the community. St. Joseph's Community Food Bank received almost 1600 pounds of food which will allow us to provide 800 meals to those in need. Great job, My FM; you make the community better.

A representative of Service Canada will be present at the Food Bank on Monday August 24th to assist any clients who are having difficulty accessing government services and benefits.

Many of the shelves at the Food Bank are getting really low. Demand is very high at this time of year and any monetary donations or donations of food that you can spare would be much appreciated. Canned good and non-perishable food items are best. A full list of needed items is on our webpage at stjosephsfoodbank.ca.

Thank you Catharine and Morgan for the delivery of milk bags for the Food Bank. We our most appreciative to you and the parishioners of St. Barnabas Anglican Church and the Deep River community for their kindness. The bags are on their way to be used tonight to protect our client’s milk orders. Thanks again.
