At one of our February lunchtime meetings, we were honoured to welcome Jane Wood , proud community leader and Co-founder of Nourish U Wellness Centre

Jane shared her inspiring personal journey and the passion that led her to build a practice rooted in holistic care, compassion, and strong community values.

A special thank you as well to Fergus, her wonderful therapy dog, who happily attended the meeting and brought an extra dose of warmth (and a few smiles) to everyone in the room. 🐾

We are grateful to Jane for taking the time to connect with us and for the meaningful work she continues to do in our community.

Last week at our weekly meeting, the Pembroke Kiwanis Club had the absolute pleasure of celebrating the charter of the brand new K-Kids Club at Highview Elementary School! 🎉

These amazing young leaders — along with their Builder’s Club counterparts — aren’t wasting any time. They’ve already started making plans to create a positive impact within their school community, and they proved what they can do by running a successful food drive over the holiday season. 👏🥫

Service, leadership, and heart in action — that’s what Kiwanis is all about, at every age. We are so proud of these students and can’t wait to see the difference they’ll continue to make!

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and safe holiday season! 🎄✨
We want to take a moment to thank our community for the incredible support you’ve shown us all year long. None of the work we do would be possible without you. Your generosity, encouragement, and involvement allow us to continue making a positive impact right here in our community.
From all of us, thank you — and here’s to an even brighter year ahead!

The Pembroke Kiwanis Club would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Patrick Brazeau from the Renfrew County District School Board for joining us at our final meeting of November.

Patrick shared an insightful and inspiring overview of the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program—highlighting how it helps students explore career paths, develop real-world skills, and prepare for bright futures here in our community.

We’re grateful for the work being done to support youth across Renfrew County and for the opportunity to learn more about this impactful program.

Thank you, Patrick, for your time, your knowledge, and your dedication to local students!

Earlier this month, our Kiwanis Club had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from the Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre to our meeting.

They shared the incredible story of how the PMFRC was created, built from a need to support the unique challenges military families face in our region. Today, they continue to be a pillar in our community — offering vital programs and services including family support, child and youth resources, employment assistance, counselling, language services, community connection activities, and so much more.

A heartfelt thank you to the PMFRC team for joining us, for the work you do each and every day, and for your commitment to strengthening families right here in the Ottawa Valley. ❤️

Together, we build stronger communities. 💙💛
