At Keystone, we know how important it is for families to have access to meaningful support and opportunities for their children to thrive!

We're pleased to offer Autism Respite Dollars to help families access:

🏡 Respite Services through a Licensed Respite Provider
🏕️ Camp Experiences to help your child(ren) build new skills, friendships and confidence

Families with a child who has a confirmed autism diagnosis are eligible for this funding. Funding will be allocated beginning in April.

Dress Purple Day reminds us that children, youth and families thrive when communities work together, and that early support, strong connections and trusted adults can make a difference.

So, grab your purple shirts, sweaters, hats, decorations or whatever else you can find and join the fun!

We’re constantly told how important early intervention is for children with additional needs.

That the earlier we recognise their difficulties, the earlier we can support them. That early support can improve communication, development, emotional wellbeing and long-term outcomes.

So why are families waiting YEARS to access it?

Years for assessments. Years for therapies. Years for specialist support. Years of parents desperately trying to hold everything together whilst being told to just keep waiting.

And during those years, our children aren’t standing still.

They’re growing. They’re developing. They’re struggling. They’re missing opportunities to receive support at a time when it could make such a difference.

And parents are left trying to fill the gaps, becoming therapists, advocates, researchers and educators, often without the training or resources to do so.

Then, when a child reaches crisis point, everyone suddenly wants to know what went wrong.

What went wrong is that we recognised the importance of early intervention but failed to make it accessible.

You cannot tell parents that time is precious whilst expecting their children to spend years on waiting lists.

Our children don’t get those years back.

And they deserve better than a system that acknowledges their needs but makes them wait for help. 🤍
