💙 Helping in All Possible Ways 💙

Ana, an international student from Brazil, faced the heartbreaking possibility of being unable to complete her studies and being deported from Canada. Then the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in London Ontario stepped in, and the funds needed for her final college course were secured in just five days.

Thanks to the compassion, generosity, and quick action of many Vincentians, Ana can complete her education, continue building a better future for her children, and remain in Canada with her family.

This is what happens when a community comes together to help in all possible ways. 💙

Ana, une étudiante internationale brésilienne, était confrontée à la perspective déchirante de ne pas pouvoir terminer ses études et d'être expulsée du Canada. La Société de Saint-Vincent de Paul de London, en Ontario, est alors intervenue et a réuni les fonds nécessaires à son dernier cours universitaire en seulement cinq jours.

Grâce à la compassion, à la générosité et à la réactivité de nombreux Vincentiens, Ana peut terminer ses études, continuer à bâtir un avenir meilleur pour ses enfants et rester au Canada auprès de sa famille.

Voilà ce qui se produit lorsqu'une communauté s'unit pour apporter son aide de toutes les manières possibles. 💙

✨ Member of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul at St. Cecilia in Calgary for nearly 40 years, Noreen MacDonald has actively served neighbours in need by dedicating her time, energy, and heart to caring for them. 🤝

From organizing Christmas hampers to delivering more than 1,000 baskets over the years, her compassion and commitment continue to inspire us all. A longtime treasurer, mentor, and volunteer leader, Noreen has touched countless lives through her generosity. 💙

💙 SSVP North of 60 Project - A shipment from St. Albert, Alberta is heading to the Hamlet of Ulukhaktok on Victoria Island in the Northwest Territories, located along the Beaufort Sea in the Arctic Ocean. 🥫🧃

💙 The SSVP in Edmonton feed children who might otherwise go hungry on weekends.

Through the “Weekender Program”, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul volunteers prepare and deliver food packs to students in Edmonton schools, ensuring children have nutritious meals when school is closed. What started with support for 20 children now reaches 145 students across 8 schools — thanks to the compassion and dedication of Vincentians.

Every food pack brings comfort, dignity, and hope. 🧃🍎

💙 La SSVP à Edmonton nourrit des enfants qui pourraient autrement avoir faim durant les fins de semaine.

Grâce au programme « Weekender », les bénévoles de la Société de Saint-Vincent de Paul préparent et livrent des sacs alimentaires aux élèves des écoles d’Edmonton, afin que les enfants aient accès à des repas nutritifs lorsque l’école est fermée. Ce qui a commencé par un soutien à 20 enfants rejoint maintenant 145 élèves dans 8 écoles, grâce à la compassion et au dévouement des Vincentiens.

Chaque sac alimentaire apporte réconfort, dignité et espoir.🧃🍎

💙 A beautiful, fully loaded sea can on its way north of 60.

Father Jim, together with the youth of the SSVP Our Lady of Perpetual Help Conference in Alberta, blessed the sea can as it begins its three-month journey to support the Arctic community of Paulatuk.

Thank you to everyone helping bring hope, compassion, and essential support to our neighbours in the North. ❄️

💙 Un superbe conteneur maritime, bien rempli, sur le chemin du nord du 60e.

Le père Jim, entouré des jeunes de la conférence SSVP Our Lady of Perpetual Help en Alberta, a béni le conteneur maritime avant qu’il entreprenne son voyage de trois mois pour venir en aide à la communauté arctique de Paulatuk.

Merci à tous ceux et celles qui apportent espoir, compassion et soutien essentiel à nos voisins du Nord. ❄️

💙 On this International Day of Families, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul highlights the importance of supporting vulnerable families and children.

The United Nations 2026 theme, “Families, Inequalities and Children’s Well-Being,” reminds us that every child deserves a future filled with hope, dignity, and opportunity.

💙 En cette Journée internationale de la famille, la Société de Saint-Vincent de Paul souligne l’importance de soutenir les familles et les enfants les plus vulnérables.

Le thème 2026 des Nations Unies, « Familles, inégalités et bien-être des enfants », nous rappelle que chaque enfant mérite un avenir rempli d’espoir, de dignité et de possibilités.

Record broken at the Windsor Street Outreach program! 🎉
The LaSalle–River Canard Youth Group, supported by Deacon Joel, exceeded all expectations by preparing 722 sandwiches in just 74 minutes for the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. An incredible act of solidarity!
Distributed the very next morning, the sandwiches were warmly received by our neighbours experiencing homelessness, with many expressing their gratitude by saying “God bless you.” 💙

Le groupe de jeunes LaSalle–River Canard, accompagné du diacre Joel, a dépassé tous les objectifs en préparant 722 sandwichs en seulement 74 minutes pour la Société de Saint-Vincent de Paul. Un élan de solidarité tout simplement remarquable !
Distribués dès le lendemain, ces sandwichs ont été chaleureusement accueillis par nos voisins en situation d’itinérance, avec de nombreux « Que Dieu vous bénisse » en guise de remerciement. 💙

Today we celebrate Saint Louise de Marillac, patron saint of social workers, a woman of faith and compassion. Alongside Saint Vincent de Paul, she devoted her life to serving the most vulnerable - the sick, the poor, and those who are isolated.

Her commitment, rooted in a deep relationship with God, continues to inspire all who work for social justice and human dignity today. 💙

Nous célébrons aujourd’hui sainte Louise de Marillac, patronne des travailleurs sociaux, femme de foi et de compassion. Aux côtés de saint Vincent de Paul, elle a consacré sa vie à servir les plus vulnérables - malades, pauvres et personnes isolées.

Son engagement, nourri par une profonde relation à Dieu, continue d’inspirer aujourd’hui tous ceux qui œuvrent pour la justice sociale et la dignité humaine. 💙
