Join editor and former Board member Miriam Edelson along with contributors Robert Fox, Emily Quaile, and Alex Silas to celebrate the launch of Confronting the Resurgent Right, a collection of essays exposing the deep roots and new threats of Canada's regressive movements.

Jackie Neapole, our Executive Director, will be moderating the panel discussion. Jackie and Miriam co-wrote a chapter entitled A Near-Death Experience: How Neo-Liberalism Choked the Canadian Women’s Movement.

CRIAW-ICREF participated in the consultation process for the upcoming 2026 federal budget. We highlight the importance of GBA Plus, universal public services, and social infrastructure like the National Action Plan to End GBV (NAP) to make sure that no one is left behind in the federal budget.

In the global context of economic uncertainty and rising anti-feminism, renewed investments in women’s rights and gender equality are even more important.

Regressive movements are actively working to roll back human rights, and women are facing mounting economic insecurity. It is important to make sure systemic change work for women’s rights and gender equality is sustained and progress is protected.

Thank you Rachel Bendayan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister, for kicking off the conversations national women’s rights organizations will be having with Members of Parliament for the renewal of the , and women’s economic security in the coming weeks.

Les mouvements régressifs travaillent activement afin de retourner en arrière en ce qui concerne les droits humains, et les femmes sont confrontées par l’insécurité économique croissante. Feminist organizations play a critical role in facilitating access to justice by ensuring the perspectives and experiences of women are included when laws are created, and by advancing reforms that promote equality.

CRIAW-ICREF is proud to have brought together feminist organizations like NAWL ANFD - National Association of Women and the Law as the Secretariat of the Beijing+30 Network and publish their work to highlight the importance of access to justice for women, girls and gender-diverse people.
