Meet Nayyar Javed!
Nayyar Javed immigrated to Canada in 1969 from Pakistan.
Nayyar first encountered CRIAW-ICREF in 1986, after assisting in organizing a conference for the Institute in Saskatoon.
She became a registered psychologist with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists and later, the President of International Women of Saskatchewan, an organization dedicated to helping female newcomers, immigrants, and refugees adjust to life in Saskatchewan.
In 1995, Nayyar served as a delegate at the UN Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing. She also served as the Saskatchewan Regional Representative for the National Action Committee on the Status of Women and joined the Women’s International Coalition for Economic Justice.
For her contributions to community work, she received Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002 and Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2023.

Nayyar Javed a immigré au Canada en 1969 depuis le Pakistan.
En 1986, Nayyar entre en contact avec CRIAW-ICREF en offrant son aide dans l’organisation d’une conférence de l’Institut à Saskatoon.
Elle deviendra par la suite psychologue agréée auprès du Saskatchewan College of Psychologists.
En 1995, Nayyar devient présidente de International Women of Saskatchewan, une organisation vouée à soutenir les nouvelles arrivantes, immigrantes et réfugiées dans leur adaptation à la vie en Saskatchewan. Elle agit comme déléguée de l’organisme à la quatrième Conférence mondiale sur les femmes des Nations Unies à Beijing.
Nayyar était également représentante régionale pour la Saskatchewan au sein du National Action Committee on the Status of Women, et se joint à la Women’s International Coalition for Economic Justice.
Pour ses contributions à la communauté, elle reçoit la Médaille du jubilé d’or de la Reine Elizabeth II en 2002, puis la Médaille du jubilé de platine en 2023.
