As one of Ottawa’s largest child and youth-serving charitable organizations, BGC Ottawa provides vital programs and services to an annual average of 4,500 young Members each year. We provide safe, suppo

rtive places where all kids and teens, of all backgrounds, can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, and develop confidence and skills for life. From anti-racism to Reconciliation to LGBTQ2S+, food security to scholarships to job readiness, our Clubs battle systemic issues with systemic solutions—equity, acceptance, support, opportunity. BGC Ottawa is about Systemic Opportunity.

The SLL Final was here, and it did not disappoint! 🏀🏆

On Sunday, we wrapped up another incredible season of the Sports & Leadership League, Ottawa’s only free, competitive basketball program for kids and teens, with an unforgettable final game!

Huge congratulations to every player and BGCO Member who showed up, put in the work and gave it their all this season. SLL is about more than the score; it’s about leadership, skill-building, confidence and healthy competition. And this season delivered on all fronts.

A big THANK YOU to our incredible coaches, officials, fans and everyone who helped make this season possible.

The final buzzer sounds on an amazing season. Until next year! 🏀🏆

Congratulations to this year’s Youth Futures graduates! 🎓💛

Last Thursday, we celebrated 150 youth from across Ottawa who completed Youth Futures – a six-month program that builds leadership skills, provides mentorship and offers hands-on work experience.

We’re proud to have had 10 BGC Ottawa Members among this year’s participants – and even prouder that 10 BGC Ottawa staff and alumni served as mentors, sharing their experience and helping guide the next generation.

A special shoutout to Abdulahi, who received a Youth Futures bursary, and Nasra, who took the stage as this year’s emcee!

Thank you to our mentors for investing their time and experience in the next generation, and congratulations to every graduate. We can’t wait to see what you do next! 💛

That’s a wrap on Summer 2026! 👋☀️

Camp Smitty has officially closed its doors for the season, and what a summer it was!

Thank you to our incredible donors, our unforgettable staff and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this summer possible. None of this happens without you.

This summer also brought something we'll be celebrating for years to come, the renovated Smith-Homestead Foundation Hall at Camp Smitty. This refreshed space will give Campers a place to gather, connect, make memories and enjoy everything that makes Camp Smitty so special — for many summers to come.

To every Camper who filled these grounds with laughter, friendship and way too many good stories to count, thank you for making this summer one for the books.

Girls Summer League Basketball had a night to remember. 🏀

We welcomed back two former BGC Ottawa Members, Achol and Divine who are now playing D1 basketball in the US, for a full evening with our Girls Summer League.

The night kicked off with a mix n’ mingle, then straight into a Q&A where our players got to ask Achol and Divine everything about their journey from BGC Ottawa Clubhouse to D1 athlete.

From there, Achol and Divine led a university-level training session, running the girls through skills and drills, before wrapping the night as guest coaches for a full scrimmage.

Great questions, great energy and a night that showed our players exactly what’s possible when you start at BGC Ottawa. 💪

Riviera chic isn’t stuffy black-tie. It’s effortless elegance with a coastal twist. Think: Sunset in Saint-Tropez meets garden party in Ottawa.

For women: Maxi dresses, silky sets, chic jumpsuits, elevated summer cocktail looks, wedges, mules or block heels (hello grass!).
