As one of Ottawa’s largest child and youth-serving charitable organizations, BGC Ottawa provides vital programs and services to an annual average of 4,500 young Members each year. We provide safe, supportive places where all kids and teens, of all backgrounds, can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, and develop confidence and skills for life. From anti-racism to Reconciliation to LGBTQ2S+, food security to scholarships to job readiness, our Clubs battle systemic issues with systemic solutions—equity, acceptance, support, opportunity. BGC Ottawa is about Systemic Opportunity.

Big news from the Tomlinson Family Foundation Clubhouse 🚶

Starting Monday, our team will walk Members from Carleton Heights Public School straight to the Clubhouse after the final bell. A safe, supervised walk and a warm welcome waiting on the other side.

Removing barriers so more kids can access after-school programs, friendships and fun. That’s what it’s all about. 💛

Parents of Carleton Heights kids, reach out to the Clubhouse to register your child.

Today is World Mental Health Day. 🧠💚

At BGC Ottawa, we believe every young person deserves a safe space to be themselves. A place where they’re seen, heard and supported no matter what they’re carrying.

Our Clubhouses are more than after-school programs. They’re where kids find trusted adults, caring friends and the kind of belonging that builds confidence from the inside out.

Mental health matters every day. For every child. Thank you for helping us create spaces where our Members know they are never alone. 💚

Today at BGC Ottawa, we recognize and honour the First Nations, Inuit and Métis children who were taken from their families and communities and forced to attend residential schools.

At the Tomlinson Clubhouse, our members and staff came together to learn, reflect and create through art activities inspired by Truth and Reconciliation, participate in trivia, and share in meaningful conversations about what they are learning and what they already know. We also prepared meals featuring foods with Indigenous significance, including rice, berries and corn.

We wear orange to remember the children who never returned home, honour Survivors, and recognize the ongoing importance of Truth and Reconciliation.

🧡 September 30 is Orange Shirt Day 🧡

Today, BGC Ottawa joins communities across the country in remembering and honouring the children who were taken from their families and sent to residential schools.

Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity to listen, learn, remember and reflect on the ongoing impacts of residential schools on Indigenous Peoples, families and communities.

As part of the Ottawa community, we recognize the importance of continuing to learn about the truth of this history and supporting the ongoing work of reconciliation. We encourage our Members, families, staff and community to take time today to learn, reflect and listen.
