We are so grateful to the landscaping companies who generously volunteer their time and services throughout the summer to maintain Cancer Survivor’s Park and keep it beautiful and welcoming.

These spaces matter. They offer a place for people to reflect, find strength, and feel a sense of peace along the cancer journey, before, during, and after treatment.

Together, we help preserve and care for a space that means so much to our community. Please take a moment to appreciate each and every name on this list, and the dedicated employees behind them.

We see you working hard outside our doors at 1500 Alta Vista week after week, and we are so thankful. , Div. A Group Inc. Today is National Cancer Survivors Day, a time to recognize the strength, resilience, and lived experiences of those navigating life during and after cancer.

Survivorship begins at diagnosis and continues long after treatment ends. For many, it is not a clear finish line, but the start of learning how to live with lasting physical, emotional, and psychological changes. It can mean adjusting to a new sense of normal, managing ongoing health concerns, and facing uncertainty that does not simply disappear with time.

As the number of survivors grows, it is increasingly clear that care cannot end with treatment. People need continued support to rebuild their lives, restore confidence, and navigate the long-term impacts of cancer with dignity and understanding.

At the Ottawa Cancer Foundation, we are here for every stage of that journey, offering connection, guidance, and compassionate care to patients, caregivers, and families.

Today, we honour what it means to live with and beyond cancer. If you feel moved to do so, you can help ensure this support continues for those who need it most. Learn more or make a gift at ottawacancer.ca.

Please join us in welcoming Julia Duffy to The Ottawa Cancer Foundation Leadership Council, where she is bringing her passion for community, compassion, and supporting others to help make a difference for those affected by cancer.

For Julia, supporting the Ottawa Cancer Foundation is deeply personal. After seeing two immediate family members face cancer in recent years, she knows how important it is to have access to guidance and a caring community throughout the cancer journey.

What motivates her most is the opportunity to help TOCF reach more people to connect them with the resources, support, and sense of belonging that can make all the difference during treatment, recovery, and beyond.

Julia believes that strong communities are built by showing up for one another, and she’s proud to contribute to a mission that brings hope and support to those affected by cancer.

Behind every program, event, and moment of support is a group of people who quietly step up and make a difference. 💜

We recently had the privilege of celebrating the volunteers whose time, energy, and dedication help strengthen our community in so many ways.

Their contributions may look different from one person to the next, but together they help create welcoming spaces, meaningful connections, and support for individuals and families affected by cancer.

To our volunteers: thank you for showing up, caring deeply, and helping make our community what it is. We couldn't do it without you!

🍋 Making Headlines, One Lemon at a Time

Angie Poirier, Director of Communications & PR at The Ottawa Cancer Foundation, joined her son Nash on CTV Your Morning Ottawa and Rogers Ottawa in the Know to spread the word about Lemonade Standemonium.

Last summer, Nash and his friends hosted their own lemonade stand fundraiser in support of The Ottawa Cancer Foundation, proving that even small acts can make a meaningful difference.

This summer, we're inviting individuals, families, schools, businesses, and community groups to join the fun. You pick the day - anytime between now and the end of August! Every stand helps raise funds for free programs, services, and support for individuals and families affected by cancer in our community. When you register on our website you can even accept on-line donations to your stand!

A big thank you to CTV Your Morning Ottawa and Rogers Ottawa in the Know for helping us spread the word about this sweet summer tradition.
