Canadian Council for Aviation & Aerospace

Canadian Council for Aviation & Aerospace We are the voice of Canada’s aviation and aerospace sector on identifying labour market challenges and providing workforce development solutions.

The Canadian Council for Aviation and Aerospace is the only national association dedicated to attracting and developing workers with the skills the aviation and aerospace industry needs to meet the demands of the current and future workforce. We assist companies with accessing government funding for training and certification of new/prospective employees. We work with various levels of governments

on expanding workforce development and up-skilling funding opportunities on behalf of the industry. We play a leadership role in attracting new workers to the industry and strives to ensure that Canada has the capacity and programs needed to educate and train them.

CCAA participated in the full line-up of activities at the ATAC Spring Event and Aviation Day-on-the-Hill Reception 2026 in Ottawa.

This annual event, spearheaded by the Air Transport Association of Canada (ATAC) alongside supporting associations like Canadian Business Aviation Association (CBAA) and Northern Air Transport Association (NATA), provides a vital forum for connecting aviation sector leaders directly with Members of Parliament and Senators to address the industry's shared workforce challenges.

During the event, we spoke directly to the Flight Training Committee regarding sector-wide participation in our multi-year Labour Market Information (LMI) project. Gathering accurate, shared intelligence is a necessary step toward resolving regional fragmentation and understanding the resource constraints impacting employers, educators, and shop floor operations across the country.

Participating in this forum proved highly valuable for aligning federal policy with practical needs. These direct discussions establish a reliable foundation to minimize regulatory friction and support long-term sector stability. Thanks for having us!

Proud to be part of the conversation on strengthening youth employment across Canada.

Tourism HR Canada President & CEO Philip Mondor was at the University of Ottawa yesterday as the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Jobs and Families and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario, highlighted federal actions focused on creating 175,000 jobs and skills-building opportunities for youth.

This support is critical, and with tourism as Canada's largest employer of youth, our sector has a vital role to play.

We’re helping young people gain valuable, transferable skills and access meaningful career pathways through such initiatives as our:
• Propel Student Work Placement Program
• Discover Tourism career exploration website
• Canadian Academy of Travel and Tourism high school resources
• Emerit training and certification programs
• Belong programming to increase disability inclusion

Tourism jobs strengthen Canada—and we’re here to help open doors for the next generation.
