Lamondance

Lamondance Training and Performing Dance Company. It also provides a forum for choreographers/teachers to develop and present their own works.

Led by Artistic director Davi Rodrigues, the program offers dancers the opportunity to immerse themselves in a high level of technical training, original choreography, study with accomplished teachers and learn the motivation behind a professional dance company. Lamondance was established as a contemporary training and performance company for emerging professional dancers in 2009 by Lara Barclay a

nd Monica Proença. Lamondance provides the dancers with the opportunity to explore dance and allow them to perform throughout the community and abroad. The mandate of the program is to provide dancers with the opportunity to learn dance techniques, individually or as a group, which will assist in developing a well-rounded dancer with self-confidence, discipline and focus; which will promote good work ethics and help them in their quest to achieve higher standards and better performance. Through the program, we teach our dancers to mentor their peer group and lead by example; with the intention of not only creating model citizens but model dancers. Former Lamondancers have gone on to international companies such as “São Paulo Cia de Dança” (Brazil), “Divinadança” (Brazil),“Nordhausen Ballet” (Germany), “Theater Osnabrück” (Germany), “Halle Opera House” (Germany), “Grazer Oper” (Austria), “Tanzkompanie der Oper Graz” (Germany),Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, “Wen Wei Dance” (Canada), among others. The program operates as a Not-For-Profit Society, working under the umbrella of RNB Dance and Theatre Arts, based in North Vancouver.

ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT | From Lamondance to

Our hearts are bursting with pride as we share some incredible news about two of our remarkable artists. Please join us in celebrating Arianna Savady and Benedict Quedenbaum, who have both secured company contracts with Ballet Edmonton for the upcoming season!

Watching their growth, dedication, and artistry flourish in the studio has been an absolute privilege, and seeing them take this major step into the professional dance world is incredibly rewarding.

graduated from our Post-Secondary Contemporary Training Program last year and chose to extend her studies and refine her craft with Lamondance this past season through our Bridge Program. Her commitment to her growth has beautifully paved the way for this next chapter.

Benedict also graduated from our Post-Secondary Contemporary Training Program and moved on to be a member of our professional dance company. His journey is a true testament to hard work and artistic excellence.

We are so incredibly proud of everything Arianna and Benedict have achieved during their time with us. While we will miss them in the studio, we are thrilled to watch them embark on this new adventure. Edmonton is gaining two beautiful artists!

All the love and success to you both, Arriana and Benni! You will always have a home at Lamondance.

VIVA 2.0 | Originally created for Lamondance Season 10

“There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” – Leonard Cohen.
Viva—an Italian proclamation of “Celebration”—returns to the stage to prove that the architecture of human emotion is truly timeless. Navigating the fragile boundary between finality and rebirth, this powerful piece reminds us that life is never a linear progression, but a series of fractures that offer us the chance to reinvent ourselves.

Experience this remounted work by Artistic Director Davi Rodrigues live as part of our season finale production, “Atlas of Being.”
