Meet our performers for Trolley Days: Heritage in Motion! 🎶🎹✨
Image 1: JAZZILLION is a Vancouver-based creative collective dedicated to writing, rehearsing and performing original jazz tunes. With three horns and a full rhythm section, they are inspired by traditional melodies and rhythms, but their purpose is to create something new. Performing in a variety of styles including post bop, soul jazz funk, and latin. They field three horns – trombone, trumpet and tenor sax – and a full rhythm section, they’re a fun band with something for everyone!
Jazzillion will perform on Sunday, June 7, between 2-3 PM.
Image 2: Pooneh Alizadeh (Mehrbanoo) .pooneh is the award-winning artistic director of the Academy of Middle Eastern Dance, AMED Dance Academy, established in 2004. Blending Middle Eastern folk and Ballet to create a colourful Middle Eastern fusion, authentic feeling and modern flair in every performance.
pooneh will perform on Saturday, June 6, between 1-2 PM.
Image 3: The Perambulating Pink Pied Piper (also known as Dodgy Frank Wimberley / Francis Buchanan) has, since Covid, been wooing the North Shore with the dulcet and delightful tunes on his bagpipes. His regular Friday 5pm parade from Central Lonsdale to Lower Lonsdale has become a resounding success, heralding the arrival of the weekend and letting the community know to stop work, shut the computer down and grab a beverage of choice. The Perambulating Pink Pied Piper is bagpiping his way on the Grand Cycle Tour across Canada, while raising funds for youth bagpipers and poetry in Vancouver.
The Perambulating Pink Pied Piper will be performing on Sunday, June 7, between 4-5 PM.
