At NNPCN, we recognize that caring for people also means caring for the world around them. World Environment Day reminds us that our health and well-being are closely tied to the health of our environment.

Clean air, safe water, green spaces, and a stable climate all contribute to quality of life—especially for seniors, individuals receiving care, and families facing health challenges. Small actions, taken together, create meaningful change.

Today, we encourage our community to reflect, reconnect with nature, and take simple steps toward a healthier planet:

Reduce waste where possible
Reuse and recycle thoughtfully
Choose walking or low-impact travel when you can
Support local green spaces and community gardens

Every action matters. Every effort adds up. Together, we can help protect the spaces that sustain us all.

06/04/2026

Palliative care is about more than end-of-life care... it’s about improving quality of life at any stage of serious illness through comfort, support, dignity, and connection. The Government of Canada’s recent awareness campaign highlights the importance of compassionate care that supports physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being for both individuals and caregivers.

At Near North Palliative Care Network, these values are at the heart of what we do. Through caregiver support, grief and bereavement programs, education, wellness initiatives, seniors companionship, and community outreach, we are committed to helping individuals and families feel supported every step of the way.

Contact us for safe, confidential support. You don’t have to walk this path alone.

National Indigenous Month Post (NNPCN Theme)

June is National Indigenous History Month ... a time to honour the rich cultures, histories, and enduring contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

At NNPCN, we recognize the importance of culturally safe, compassionate care that respects tradition, community, and connection to land and spirit. We are committed to learning, listening, and walking gently alongside Indigenous individuals and families in our community.

This month is an opportunity to reflect, to listen, and to deepen our understanding of truth and reconciliation in care and community support.

Honouring stories, strength, and spirit... today and always.
