On Saturday we held our CYPFFA charity car wash!! What a success it was, thank you to our volunteers and off duty firefighters who came and scrubbed cars. When we asked for dirty vehicles you guys showed up!! It’s a good thing we had the firetruck there to take care of business. We look forward to seeing everyone at our next event! 🧼 Thank you to Newmarket and in Aurora who made sure our volunteers were fed and happy!!

How do firefighters keep cool in the summer?? We train with water! Hoses, nozzles and water are some of the most important tools we use. Warmer months means lots of opportunity to get outside and train in our community on topics like pumping and hose management. Maybe we will show up in your neighborhoods next! 🚒

Well that’s a wrap, after three months of hard work we welcome two new firefighters to CYFS and our fire family!! We are excited for these guys to hit the ground running with their new crews. Thank you to our awesome training officers and firefighters who stepped up and helped out with the recruit class. We wish firefighter Brett and firefighter Jack happy and long careers!!

Just over two weeks away, CYPFFA is hosting a charity car wash at the York Region Administrative Centre in Newmarket from 9am-3pm, all money raised will go to local charities in the Aurora and Newmarket communities. Bring your bike, bring that car you want to get cleaned for a date and bring your family minivan! Let us clean your vehicle so you can ride in style! Looking forward to seeing all those dirty vehicles 🧼

Today is National Firefighters Day!! Thank you to all our firefighters at CYFS and to all the other firefighters serving their communities. We are also remembering all those that lost their lives in the line of duty. Being a firefighter is not a job for everyone but we are grateful that we have some highly skilled, empathetic, well educated and motivated ones on our team! Safe shift to all those on duty today!! 👩🏼‍🚒 👨🏻‍🚒

This morning we were up early to support the runners in the Southlake Hospital annual 5K run! Thank you to all the participants that ran and raised money for our local hospital, it was awesome to see all the support!! Fighting fires may be stressful but so is filling up water cups at the hydration station 😅

Yesterday we had our Easter boot drive, even though we were soaked and cold because of the lovely weather (🙄) we were warmed by our community as they showed up with lots of donations and even some hot beverages for us. Thank you to everyone who donated money or just stopped to say hi! We were able to raise thousands of dollars to support charities in the Aurora and Newmarket communities. And of course thanks to our firefighters and volunteers we truly couldn’t do it without them!
