โพ๏ธ๐ Thatโs a wrap on Junior Jays 2026๐โพ๏ธ
Tonight was the final night of our WSCC Junior Jays season, and we celebrated with pizza, cupcakes, certificates and a very special gift โ a baseball glove for every Junior Jay! ๐ง๐โพ๏ธ T-shirts are still to come!
This year marked our 4th year offering Junior Jays as a community partnership, providing 91 kids in our community with the opportunity to learn and play baseball completely FREE of charge.
A very special shout-out to Jays Care Foundation for their ongoing support of our Junior Jays program! ๐โพ๏ธ Through their Community Partner program, every one of our Junior Jays received a Forever Glove โ a special gift from Jays Care celebrating the growth of baseball across Canada and their commitment to putting a glove in the hands of kids and inspiring a lifelong love of the game.
We are so grateful for the continued partnership and for the opportunity to give kids in our community not only a chance to play, but something special to take home and keep playing with for years to come. โค๏ธ
Over the past month and a half, we watched our Junior Jays learn new skills, make new friends, build confidence and, most importantly, have fun being part of their community.
A huge thank you to Rachel and Jordan for stepping up as our lead coaches, and to Vanessa and Nicole for holding down the canteen and making sure our Junior Jays had their free freezies after working hard on the fieldโค๏ธ And thank you to every other volunteer who gave their time, energy and patience to make this program possible- you do not go unrecognized!
Thank you to all of the parents and caregivers who showed up, encouraged their kiddos, helped them get on the field and joined in along the way!
And finally, thank you to our Junior Jays. We hope you leave this season with more than just some new baseball skills โ we hope you leave with friendships, confidence and memories that will stick with you for years to come. โพ๏ธ
Programs like this donโt happen without people who are willing to step up and give their time. When adults come together to create something positive for kids, our entire community benefits. There is something incredibly powerful about children watching the grown-ups around them work together, volunteer their time and give back simply because they believe kids deserve these opportunities.
Thatโs what community is all about. โค๏ธ
Thank you to everyone who helped make our 4th season of Junior Jays so special. We couldnโt have done it without you!
See you next season, Junior Jays! โพ๏ธ๐
