Theses hunts are open to all licensed hunters and made possible by the OFAH, the Long Point Waterfowlers Association, and the Rondeau Bay Waterfowlers Association.

Let’s hope everyone’s season is off to a great start!

Fall migration is in full swing, and there’s no better time to brush up on your waterfowl identification skills!

Whether you’re an experienced waterfowler, a new hunter, or someone who enjoys watching ducks and geese on Rondeau Bay, learning to identify different species is an important part of enjoying and conserving our waterfowl heritage.

🔎 Want to improve your waterfowl ID skills?

Ducks Unlimited Canada offers a FREE Waterfowl Identification Guide to help you recognize different species and learn more about the birds we see in our wetlands.

Delta Waterfowl offers a waterproof, hunter-tested Waterfowl Identification Guide developed with expertise from Delta Waterfowl and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It’s a great resource for learning to identify North American ducks and geese and a handy addition to your hunting gear this fall!

Barrier-Free Blind Booking Procedure

Purpose

The Rondeau Bay Waterfowlers Association (RBWA) is committed to providing accessible waterfowl hunting opportunities through its barrier-free blind. The following procedure outlines how the blind may be reserved and allocated during the hunting season.

1. Advance Bookings

Any individual holding a valid accessible parking permit may contact the RBWA in advance to reserve the barrier-free blind for an available hunting date.
Advance bookings will be honoured for the agreed-upon date, provided the reservation has been confirmed by the Association.

2. Morning-of-the-Draw Priority

On the morning of the regular blind draw(4:30 mon,wed,fri,sat), an individual holding a valid accessible parking permit may claim the barrier-free blind, provided it has not already been reserved in advance.
The individual must present their accessible parking permit to the appropriate draw official before the draw begins to secure priority access to the blind.

3. Allocation During the Draw

Once the draw begins, if the barrier-free blind has not been reserved in advance and no eligible individual has presented their accessible parking permit before the draw begins, the blind will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis through the regular draw process.

4. General Guidelines

All bookings and claims are subject to availability.
Individuals wishing to use the priority booking process must hold and present a valid accessible parking permit.
Members are asked to respect this procedure to ensure fair access to the blind while maintaining the Association’s commitment to accessible hunting opportunities.

We know waterfowl season just got underway but we’ve got lots of planning to do!

Big success at our Rondeau Bay Waterfowlers Association Youth Hunt!

What a great day for our Youth Hunt! A big thank you to the organizers and volunteers for putting this together. Also many thanks to our friends at Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) for their help and support. We had a great turnout of young hunters out in the marsh, and it was wonderful to see so many of them out enjoying the outdoors.

A sh***un was also donated for the event, and congratulations to Max Muscat, the lucky winner!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, and helped introduce the next generation to the sport.

Reminder:

The RBWA youth hunt is taking place this Saturday morning October 3rd.

Due to the youth hunt the marsh is closed for all other hunters Saturday morning and a draw will be held at noon for afternoon hunt. After that first come first serve like always.

Your time, effort, and dedication make a real difference in keeping our marsh and shoreline clean and enjoyable for everyone. It’s great to see people come together for something that matters.
