FYI

Although this issue falls outside the Municipality's direct control, I am increasingly concerned by the continued power interruptions being experienced across parts of South Kent.

I understand that occasional disruptions can occur on any electrical system.

However, the number of recent power flashes and brief outages being reported by residents is concerning and warrants further attention.

Very early this morning, I contacted Mayor Darrin Canniff who has committed to prioritizing engaging directly with senior leadership at both Hydro One and Entegrus again to discuss these ongoing concerns.

Reliable power is essential for our homes, businesses, farms, and emergency services. I will continue advocating for our communities and pushing for answers and solutions.

Good morning Erieau
On September 9th is our regular ECA meeting beginning at 7 pm. Beginning at 7:45 pm we will be hosting at MEET THE CANDIDATES night. At this point we have 6 candidates confirmed. Doors will open at 7:30 for those not attending our regular ECA meeting. This portion of the meeting will be open to anyone in Ward 2 but keep in mind space is limited in the community room at the Erieau Firehall.

Good Evening All:

Due all the comments and complaints on FB and thanks to Councillor Ceccacci, we have reached out to CKPS regarding the damage and noise issues AFTER the Canada Day Fireworks.

Not one call or complaint was received by CKPS either on the Non Emergency Line or by 911 operators. I have to stress again that patrols are based on calls for service/complaints. IF YOU SEE OR HEAR NOISE AND/OR ACTIONS THAT CONCERN YOU MAKE THE CALL. 911 IF YOU BELIEVE IT'S URGENT OR LIFE THREATENING. IF IT IS A GENERAL CALL FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IS MISCHIEF, DAMAGE TO PUBLIC PROPERTY, NOISE COMPLAINTS, INCLUDING RACING AND SQUEALING TIRES, CALL THE NON-EMERGENCY LINE 519-352-1234.

Facebook complaints does not do any good! It's after the fact.

Call when the disturbance is going on. The time and locations are important information and can be tracked in order for pro-active policing to take place. Chatham-Kent is a huge area and as the saying goes, "the squeaky wheel get's the grease"!

Quick reminder of our ECA meeting next Wednesday July 8th. We will be having a guest speaker. Mark Peacock from the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority will be speaking on the reorganization of conservation authorities and their role. Documents for the meeting will be posted early next week

It is with deep sadness that I share the details of our dear Eli’s funeral arrangements. I’ve started this post numerous times and deleted it just as many times, so I’ll keep this simple. She was much loved and respected. She loved to laugh and have fun but she was a force to be reckoned with! She was an incredible business woman and very community minded. Eli was instrumental in our Art on the Boulevard and our planters and gardens in the village. Eli also was one of the “forces” behind the Accessible Playground at Laverne Kelly Park. She will be missed by many, but rest easy now Eli your pain is over
