I’m reaching out to invite you to take part in our Explore the Outdoors Day: Beachside Discovery Day, a new, community-focused event happening this summer at the beach.
Event Details Date: June 27 Time: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Location: Erieau Beach (pavilion and surrounding outdoor spaces)
This free, family-friendly event is designed to help residents connect with nature, explore local outdoor opportunities, and build healthy, active living habits. The beach provides an inclusive and accessible setting to highlight the benefits of time spent outdoors — from physical wellness and stress reduction to social connection and environmental stewardship.
For our first year, we are intentionally hosting a smaller, well-managed event, with plans to expand in future years based on interest and capacity.
How Groups Can Participate
We are inviting local organizations and partners to be part of the day in one of the following ways:
• Host a booth or activity space (education, hands-on activities, demonstrations, or information sharing)
• Lead or support an activity (e.g., art-based activities, movement, sport, environmental engagement)
• Volunteer time to support event flow and participant engagement
Planned spaces include:
• Pavilion & grass area: Education and information booths (approximately 10–15 total)
• Beach area: Art-based activities and a scheduled beach yoga class (pending instructor availability)
• Court areas: Potential pickleball and basketball activities
• Environmental focus: A beach clean-up during the event
Why Participate
This event provides an opportunity to:
• Connect directly with families and residents
• Showcase your programs, services, or expertise
• Reduce barriers to outdoor participation
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and community-building experience
If you’re interested in being involved — or would like to discuss ideas that align with your organization — please let me know:
• What type of involvement you’re interested in (booth, activity, or volunteer support)
• Any space or setup considerations we should be aware of
I’d be happy to answer questions or talk through possibilities that fit your capacity.
Thank you for all you do to support our community. I hope you’ll consider joining us for this exciting new event.
Thank you,

Good Morning All

Please see the below message from the municipality regarding kayak launches A drawing of the proposed launches & a survey question is on Lets Talk The link is below Please take the time to review & have your say! This will be your only opportunity to express your opinion.

QUOTE
The work on the kayak launches continues. We have a preliminary layout design drawing that has been shared on the associated community feedback Let’s Talk page, of which I have provided the link down below. We have also completed all of the required environmental consultation and permits. We are still reviewing parking for the Stass Lane location and hopefully will have additional information in the near future but also welcome any ideas that we get from the community feedback. The feedback period will end March 6th, once we have collected and reviewed the information, we will complete the detailed design and look to put it out for tender as soon as possible thereafter.

If you could please forward and post the associated Let’s Talk page link it would be greatly appreciated.
