Friends of Rondeau Provincial Park New members and volunteers are always welcome! The Friends provided the Natural Heritage Education Program with display enhancements and bird feed.

The Friends of Rondeau is a non-political, registered charity which was created in 1986 to encourage and support preservation, education, research projects, and historical & and interpretive programs in Rondeau Provincial Park. CURRENT BOARD MEMBERS

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

In 2012 a boardwalk was completed on the oak savannah and dune portion of Tulip Tree Trail which also allows the NHE staff to educate the public about the rare species of flora and fauna found in this habitat. The Friends of Rondeau partnered with OMAFRA and local landowners in the restoration of wetlands on the west shore of Rondeau Bay with the goal of improving water quality in the bay. Brand new canoes, canoeing equipment, and a trailer were bought by The Friends so that guided canoe hikes can be held in the bay. In addition, funds were provided to construct a nature garden at the Visitor Centre and a one-way glass window was installed in the VC so birds and other wildlife can be viewed without being disturbed. Special programs and guest speakers are also funded by the Friends. In 2018, the Friends were involved in several activities designed to improve and maintain park habitat as well as increase public awareness of Rondeau and participation in park activities.

🌿 WE’RE HIRING! 🌿

The Friends of Rondeau are seeking a reliable, motivated, and self-directed individual to work at our Gift Shop, located inside the Visitor Centre, for the 2026 season. This is a full-time position ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, the ability to learn quickly, and the initiative to work independently.

Position Details:
✔️ Full-time employment from late April through Labour Day
✔️ May is our busiest month and requires longer hours (approximately 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
✔️ June, July, and August shifts are 7 hours per day
✔️ Possible weekend shifts in the fall
✔️ 5 days per week
✔️ Weekend availability is required
✔️ Minimum wage (potential for an hourly wage increase based on performance)

Responsibilities Include:
✔️ Inventory management
✔️ Sales and handling cash, debit, and credit transactions
✔️ Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
✔️ Providing friendly, welcoming customer service
✔️ Learning about Rondeau Provincial Park and the Friends of Rondeau organization

Qualifications:
✔️ Applicants must be between 16–30 years of age
✔️ Previous work experience is an asset
✔️ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

The Friends of Rondeau are looking for a responsible, organized, and independent worker to join our team in the Gift Shop (inside the Visitor Centre) for weekends this fall.

✔️ Position: Part-time, weekends only (starting ASAP until end of October)
✔️ Hours: Approximately 14 hrs/week
✔️ Wage: Minimum wage
✔️ Duties include: inventory, sales, operating cash/debit/credit, cleaning, and providing friendly customer service
✔️ Previous work experience is an asset
✔️ Applicants must be 15 years of age or older
✔️ Great way to get to know Rondeau Park & support the work of the Friends of Rondeau!
