May 29th is Teal Day in New Brunswick!

This year, it was officially declared that the last Friday in May is Teal Day in NB. This community-led initiative started in Charlotte County and has continued to grow across the province as a powerful way to bring the long-silenced issue of sexual violence into the light and show support for survivors.

How you can participate in Miramichi:
- Wear or Display Teal: Encourage your team to wear teal or decorate your space to show public support for survivors.
- Visit our Booth: We’ll be at Cali.co Café on Teal Day until 12:00 PM. Come by to chat with us, learn about our services, and grab some teal goodies while supplies last!
- Have a Sweet Treat: As a thank you to participants, anyone at Cali Co wearing teal on May 29th will receive a free cookie!
- Share the Message: Send us a photo of your teal outfit or display, or post it on social media and tag our organization to help spread the message!

Miramichi is known as a community that cares deeply and shows up for each other. Let’s live up to our name and show survivors in our community that they are seen, supported, and never alone.

See you soon in teal! 🩵

Ladies, remember to change your passwords!!

It's ! 📱

Strong passwords are an important part of everyone's online lives, and they can be a helpful tool for victims and survivors of abuse.

It's never your fault if someone chooses to misuse your passwords or online accounts to hurt you, but thinking about how to strengthen your passwords can help you feel safer and give you one less thing to worry about online.

Check out these and other password tips from our Safety Net team: https://buff.ly/V6Rgqwv

[Image description: Purple, gray, and black text reads: "Passwords: Increasing Your Security. Tips for Victims and Survivors of Abuse. Prioritize your safety. You know best what is (and isn't!) safe. This could include using a different device or reaching out to an advocate. Create strong passwords. Use at least 12-15 characters, with letters, numbers, and symbols. Use different passwords for different accounts. Use a password manager. Along with multi-factor authentication, these tools add extra layers of security to protect your accounts. Be wary of single sign-on. Don't use your social media or email credentials to log into other websites." Safety Net logo above text. The Safety Net logo consists of a house and star with text reading: "National Network to End Domestic Violence Safety Net Project."]

Grive, Feel, Process as you need to.
Theres no need to feel guilty about it or allow anyone to make you feel guilty about it. Your feelings matter and as you heal and process them you will realize you made the right decisions and deserve all the love you so freely give.
