Big Brothers Big Sisters facilitates developmental relationships between volunteer mentors and children and youth who are facing adversity.

We are not Government funded, and rely on our community for support. Mentors constitute a social resource, helping children and youth develop social and emotional skills and connecting them to other parts of their communities. Our mentoring programs also provide opportunities for meaningful volunteer roles that make a true impact in the community and in the lives of the children and youth we work with. As part of our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, we prioritize collaborating and working with like-minded partners in the community. Unlike many charitable organizations, we do not receive government funding on an ongoing basis. We need the support f the community to continue to serve local children and youth through our many mentoring programs, designed to support their mental health and well-being.

Last night we had pumpkin carving at the office for our Bigs and Littles. One of our Littles taught his Big how to carve a pumpkin, as he had never done so before. This match is very new, and they have taught each other so much already! Thank you to FreshCo Medicine Hat for the pumpkins.

Because of the generosity and dedication of this amazing community, we can continue to ignite the potential in youth, building meaningful connections, fostering confidence and resilience, and helping young people reach their full potential.

A huge thank you to all the golfers, sponsors, donors and volunteers who helped make this year’s charity golf tournament such a success! Your support goes far beyond the golf course. Together, we are creating brighter futures and showing young people that they have a community behind them.

We are also proud that the proceeds from this tournament are part of the Rogers Charity Classic's Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink program, which helps amplify donations through matching contributions of up to 50%! This means your generosity can go even further in supporting mentorship and creating lasting change for youth.

We look forward to next year’s tournament and to continuing this incredible partnership. With your ongoing support, we can continue to ignite potential, strengthen connections, and make a lasting impact in the lives of young people.

We are so thankful to Freshco for providing pumpkins for our Mentor and Mentee night!
With their support we are Making Life Bigger for our families!

We were happy to support Big Brothers Big Sisters Medicine Hat with their mentor/mentee pumpkin carving event! We hope everyone has fun making funny and fearsome faces on their jack-o-lanterns 🎃

We still have a great selection of carving pumpkins, decorative pumpkins and gourds, and yummy pie pumpkins. Come and get yours while supplies last!

We are Ghoulishly Giddy for Teen Night Halloween Pre- Party at the Medicine Hat Public Library tonight! Shyla, Kyla and Dakota have been preparing the most Wickedly Icky game of Fear Factor. We look forward to seeing all the teens and how they do against the games of Egg Roulette, The Scorpion Dig, Feast of Bugs, Box of Worms and more. Thank you to Medicine Hat Public Library for the invite, and thank you to Old Navy team in Medicine Hat for helping run the activities!
