Share this update to amplify the call for peace, protect civilians, and advance the Sustainable Development Goals in times of crisis.

📍 Middle East Update – 8 April 2026

A two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran has been announced today after nearly 40 days of escalating hostilities. The United Nations Secretary-General welcomed the move as an important step toward de-escalation and diplomacy.
However, continued strikes in Lebanon highlight the fragility of the situation and the urgent need to protect civilians.
This moment reinforces the importance of:
🎯 SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
🎯 SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being
🎯 SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals

Sustained dialogue, humanitarian access, and international cooperation remain critical for lasting peace.
