Earth lost a good one yesterday.

A devoted Christian and Philanthropist, Dolly set trends for future generations of entertainers and humans.

A loss that will most certainly be felt for generations to come.

Today, we join in remembering Dolly Parton and the remarkable legacy she leaves behind.

As a generous supporter of The Salvation Army, Dolly used her platform and resources to uplift families in need in many ways, including through her unforgettable 2023 Red Kettle Kickoff performance. We are grateful for her kindness, generosity and heart for serving others.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to our across-the-street neighbours for everything they do for us. And for their generous donation to our Back to School supply program.

On Wednesday, volunteers from and got together at Ridge Church to help pack over 400 back to school supply kits. These kits will be delivered to schools the first week of September for vulnerable kids in our community that need an extra hand this September with the costs of heading back to class.

In just a few short weeks, we will be sending 35 boys and girls to a week at camp at The Salvation Army's !

This camp provides vulnerable kids in our community the chance to just be kids for a week - swimming, hiking, canoeing, campfires!

Camp registration is now full for the 2026 season, but stay on the look out if you're hoping for a spot for the summer of 2027😎☀🏖

We are so grateful for the support of Rotary Club or Haney Rotary Club of Haney Ladies Night over the last 15 years - helping us feed elementary school kids lunch each school day. Last night, we joined North Fraser Therapeutic Riding Association & Friends in Need Food Bank to share stories of the work we do to support the community and how the funds the club raise makes a huge impact.

Today is National Doughnut Day!

This delicious day takes place on the first Friday in June - but do you know why?

Doughnut Day's history can be traced all the way back to the World Wars, when Doughnut Lassies - Salvation Army volunteers - made pastries for soldiers (often in their helmets) consisting of a simple recipe of flour and lard. They were on the front lines serving the people who were protecting them.

Today we are honouring the Salvation Army Doughnut lassies by delivering Bella Nonna doughnuts to the people in Ridge Meadows who we care for most - our community partners, staff and friends.
