This long weekend, let's look out for one another and keep the community safe. Because fentanyl can be hidden in other substances, stay aware, and carry a Naloxone kit, saving a life starts with being prepared!

🌿 WALKING FOR WELLNESS🌿
Hosted by NNADAP

Join us tomorrow, Friday at 11:00 AM, for our weekly Walking for Wellness. 🚶🏽‍♀️🌳

Walking is more than just moving our bodies. As we walk, we’re also caring for our mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Being outside gives us a chance to connect with the land, breathe, reflect, and connect with one another.

Bring a friend, meet someone new, or simply come as you are.

We all heal in our own way, but together, we are stronger one step at a time.

Picnic tables will be available along the walking path for anyone who needs to take a break whether that’s a quarter way, halfway, three-quarters of the way, or wherever you feel you need one. There’s no pressure to complete the whole path.

We want to make the walking path a welcoming and supportive space for everyone including those who may be struggling a little more, need a moment to rest, or simply want to sit and connect with someone privately.

🥪 Light snack provided.

EVERYONE IS welcome

We’ll see you tomorrow at 11:00 AM! 🌿

Kwey Kakinawig, Hello everyone. ✨

This Friday we will be having a Full Moon Ceremony for Aditagagomin Kizis to honor the last berry moon and also known as the Sturgeon Moon and Rice Moon.

We will be meeting and having a fire outside in the tipi at KZHSS for 7:30pm with a small potluck feast.

Bring your drums, rattles, bundles, ribbon skirts if you have one. Come sit and pray, laugh and enjoy the power of the Moon.

The topic of conversation will be talking about Patience, Growth and Gratitude.

We will take a moment to reflect on these topics through:
-gentleness and softness
-family and nurturing
-healthy boundaries

This is a space for those in recovery, trying to find recovery and those supporting those in recovery.

For any questions or inquiries you can contact the office 819-449-5593.

See you then ✨

💜 NO ONE WALKS ALONE.

Overdose and drug poisoning have taken people we love. They have affected families, friendships and our whole community. International Overdose Awareness Day gives us a chance to come together, remember those who are no longer with us, and stand beside those who are.

On August 31, the KZHSS NNADAP Team invites you to join us at the Walking Path.

We’ll honour those we’ve lost with a Memorial Sacred Fire and ceremony, and walk together carrying purple ribbons that will become a collective reminder along the path because no one walks alone. HELP US TURN THE WALKING PATH PURPLE.

There will be music, guest speakers, a community BBQ, and free Naloxone kits and demonstrations.

This gathering is about remembrance, but it is also about life. It is about reducing stigma, supporting recovery, sharing knowledge that can save a life, and making sure people know there is still a place for them in this community.

Whether you come because you have lost someone, because you love someone, because this has been part of your own journey, or simply because you want to stand with our community, you are all welcome.

“Because harm reduction is dope.”

Yes, we put the word “dope” on our NNADAP swag. We did that on purpose, let us tell you why…

We know dope has long been used as a word for drugs. But dope is also slang for something cool, good or awesome. That double meaning is exactly why we chose it. Because stigma lives in language.

People who use substances are still our relatives, friends, parents, children, neighbours and community members. Shame does not make substance use safer. Judgment does not bring someone closer to recovery. And avoiding conversations about drugs does not prevent overdose.

Harm reduction means meeting people where they are and reducing the risk of harm while they are there. It can exist alongside treatment, ceremony, culture, land-based healing and recovery. We don't have to choose one or the other. For NNADAP, we want people to be able to walk through our doors as they are, without first having to prove that they are ready to change.

Naloxone is part of that. It is a life-saving medication that can temporarily reverse an opioid overdose. Carrying it means being prepared to save a life.

So yes. Harm reduction is dope. 💜
