Today, the Lloydminster Fire Fighters Association recognizes and celebrates the mothers in our community.

To the moms on the front lines—balancing the demands of this job with family life, missed holidays, long nights, and early mornings—thank you.

We also recognize the mothers behind the scenes, holding things together at home while their loved ones answer the call.

Your strength, sacrifice, and support are felt every day, even when they aren’t always seen.

Wishing all mothers a safe and meaningful Mother’s Day. 💐

Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we recognize the dedication, courage, and sacrifice of our members.

Every day, Lloydminster firefighters answer the call—running toward danger when others step back. From fires to medical emergencies and motor vehicle collisions, they are there when it matters most.

Every response reflects a commitment to protect lives, support families, and serve our community with professionalism and pride.

We honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice and thank the families who stand behind our firefighters every day.

We are proud to serve—and grateful for the trust placed in us.

Not every part of the job is visible to the public — but it all matters.

Firefighters face challenging situations that can take a toll long after a call is over. That’s why earlier this week we had members attending Peer Support Training, building the skills to recognize when someone may be struggling and to offer support or aid in connecting them to resources when it’s needed.

It’s about making sure no one faces those challenges alone — and that the same commitment we bring to the community is matched by how we look after each other.

Today, we recognize the National Day of Mourning—honouring those who have lost their lives, been injured, or become ill due to their work.

In the fire service, the impact is felt both on the fireground and long after.

We remember those we’ve lost, stand with those still fighting, and support the families and coworkers who carry it forward.

We remain committed to protecting one another—because everyone deserves to go home.

Lloydminster Fire Rescue will be conducting ice water rescue training at Bud Miller All Seasons Park throughout April, including tomorrow, April 11.

Residents may notice fire trucks, rescue equipment, and crews on the ice during daytime training sessions.

This hands-on training helps crews maintain the skills needed to respond safely and effectively during ice-related emergencies.

This is scheduled training. There is no cause for concern if you see emergency vehicles and crews in the area.

Please use caution in the area and give crews space to work.

Prevent Lithium-Ion Battery Fires!

If a Lithium-Ion Battery cell creates more heat than it can effectively disperse, it can lead to a rapid uncontrolled release of heat energy, known as 'thermal runaway', that can result in a release of toxic gas, fire or explosion.

The batteries can overheat or explode if they are used, charged or disposed of incorrectly or if they are damaged, and fires caused by the batteries can be dangerous and difficult to extinguish.

Before you put your phone down tonight… take 5 seconds.

🚪 Close your bedroom door before you go to sleep.

Fire can spread quickly through an open doorway.
A closed door can slow smoke, heat, and flames — giving you more time if a fire happens overnight.

One small step.
A big difference.
