We are very excited to announce our January 30/27 Seedy Saturday event! This is open to the public. Our speaker, at 1 pm, is a Lacombe area native! ALFRED PRINS! He was as born in Lacombe, and raised on a farm west of Lacombe. Took Horticulture in the Lacombe Composite High School, and Horticulture Technology at Olds College. He holds a Journeyman Landscape Gardener Certificate, used to hold an Alberta Pesticide Applicators Lisence, and have about 60 yrs experience in the Horticulture and gardening industry, all in Central Alberta. I worked as the Greenhouse Manager, growing and propagating all manner of annuals and landscape plants, for a local garden center, for 34 years.
Currently I am a happily retired senior and my gardens are still my passion and my happy place!
Topic: seed saving, seed starting, root cuttings and just maybe if time allows, grafting.
When: January 30, 2027 10 am to 4 pm with speaker at 1 pm
Where: the Lacombe Memorial Centre
We hope to have plenty of vendors also on site.
Our seed library is 1$/ pkg or trade pkg for pkg of seed.
