Today, we are incredibly grateful to observe National Indigenous Peoples Day.

Our Community Futures region is unique because it spans a massive geographic area of northern Saskatchewan. We are fortunate to live, travel, and work alongside entrepreneurs across Treaty Territories 5, 6, 6A, 8, and 10—spaces that are the traditional lands of the Woodland Cree, Denesuline, and Métis peoples.

Every day, we hear ideas from folks who are strengthening their communities through the power of local business. Northern entrepreneurship requires a special kind of resilience, whether navigating immense distances, seasonal roads, or fly-in access.

With a mandate to support all entrepreneurs in our region, we don't take this lightly. Guided by a board of directors that truly reflects the communities we serve, our commitment to the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #92 is built directly into our structure, and the daily work of our team.

We are honored to play a part in fostering equitable access to business support, funding, and advice across the North.

We're stoked to be heading to the The City Of Flin Flon, Creighton, and Denare Beach area again next week for this event. This part of the province, and our region's neighbours in Manitoba, have some of the most amazing scenery, experiences, and opportunities for a summer full of exploration!

We will be working with our friends at Community Futures Greenstone to ensure that entrepreneurs on both sides of the provincial boundary feel well-supported and have the tools they need to succeed this season, and beyond!

If you are looking to start a business, or just want to explore your own backyard this summer, make sure you jot this event down on your calendar!

A big thank you to Discover Flin Flon Creighton for the invitation and their effort in bringing everyone together!

🌲✨ Be a tourist in your own backyard!

Join us on May 12 at the Flin Flon Community Hall to discover the amazing tourism experiences right here in our region. From local adventures to unique businesses, there’s so much to explore close to home!

🕖 Tradeshow & Market: 7–9 PM
🎟️ Free entry – everyone welcome!

Come meet the people behind local experiences, get inspired, and maybe even plan your next adventure without leaving the North 🚗

We love meeting students who have big dreams, amazing ideas, and high hopes for their communities! Often, these are the starting ingredients for a product or service that can become a business of their own.

We will be at the Lac La Ronge Indian Band and Keewatin Community Development Association Inc.'s Career Fair at the JRMCC SPORTS & RECREATION DEPT. next week. Give us a wave below if you will be there too!

We would love to talk about how Community Futures Visions North can help bring your ideas to life through grants, loans, advice, and other business supports!

We are all set up in Creighton at the Trade & Leisure Show this week.

It's a great opportunity to highlight the success of past clients, Overland Resort & Rubi’s Outdoors by giving away a $400 prize pack to one lucky winner!

Our Business Support Officer, Brenden, will be on-hand throughout the show to hear about your business ideas and point you towards relevant services and support from Community Futures Visions North.

If you are a resident of Manitoba, we can also connect you with the team from Community Futures Greenstone in Flin Flon.

Come say "hello" if you're in the area this week!
