Strong representation this week in Niagara Falls as our members attended the Eric G. Taylor Seminar and took in an insightful update from DVP Fred LeBlanc of the International Association of Fire Fighters.

The discussion focused on advocacy, leadership, and the national outlook for fire fighters. Where we’ve been, where we’re headed, and how we protect the profession moving forward.

Union education isn’t optional. It’s essential. The more informed and engaged our members are, the stronger our voice at the table and the more productive our relationship with employers becomes. Knowledge builds credibility. Credibility builds results.

Proud to see our members investing in the job beyond the fireground.

The K.L.P.F.F.A was proud to recognize Platoon Chief Danny Sasseville at his retirement luncheon after 30 years of service with Kirkland Lake Fire Services. Three decades in this job isn’t just time on the clock, it’s missed holidays, long nights, tough calls, and always putting the crew and the community first.

Danny has been a steady, respected leader who understood what it meant to look out for firefighters on and off the job. Whether it was on scene, in the hall, or behind the scenes, he carried himself with professionalism and earned the respect of the people working beside him.

It was great to see retired members in attendance to help honour Danny and to be reminded of the strong brotherhood and sisterhood that runs through this "Family". We were also proud to recognize Platoon Chief Steve Fry for 30 years of service, a milestone that speaks to dedication, grit, and pride in the job.

On behalf of the KLPFFA Local 573 thank you to both Danny Sasseville and Steve Fry for decades of service to this department and this community.

Enjoy the next chapter Brothers.
