Some will recognize this photo of Kate Tomah and Harvey DuPlessis from almost a hundred years ago, illustrating part of our history with the indigenous community. Come out on 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘁 𝟮𝗽𝗺 (112 Rt. 616 - The Old Schoolhouse) to hear 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘀 tell the largely untold story of the Wəlastəkokewiyik people, deprived of their traditional land at the head of tide, and forced to settle in Kingsclear. Come out on Saturday May 30 for a fascinating tour of one of our oldest cemeteries - The Pioneer Cemetery at St. Paul's in Zealand. Learn the techniques of identification and preservation of historic gravestones, and get to know the families who built our community! This free workshop is open to all interested community members, and families with children are most welcome. All materials will be provided. Registration is required, and space is limited.
