Fredericton Therapeutic Riding Association Enhanced learning through equine therapy for children and adults with varying abilities.

The Fredericton Therapeutic Riding Association is a subset of CANTRA (Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association), which is a registered charity that promotes challenge, achievement and empowerment for children and adults with disabilities through the use of the horse. Horseback riding promotes mobility, coordination and balance for individuals with physical disabilities by promoting muscle toning an

d strength, as well as helping to improve concentration and improvement of learning skills - and above all the development of self-confidence and motivation!

🎉We had a very successful night of volunteer training🎉

Thank you so much to all of those who came out to try something new. We hope to see all of your friendly faces this fall!

We also want to highlight a ✨BIG ACHIEVEMENT✨ for one of our rescue horses, Kobe!

Kobe was rescued 3 years ago, alongside two other wonderful horses, and when he first arrived at Silverwood Arabians Farm, he was very weary of trusting anyone. Now, because of the hard work and dedication of the Taylor family and the honest work of our EAL students, Kobe is ready for a new job!

We trialled him with our independent riders this summer, and he did fantastic, so we decided the next step would be to integrate him into our Monday and Wednesday night rides!

Last night while many brave individuals tried something new with our volunteer training, Kobe joined them in being brave and tried having sidewalkers for the first time, and WOW, he took it in stride! With some more practice and familiarity, we are confident that Kobe will take on his new position as a regular in our therapeutic riding program with ease, comfort and curiosity!

🎉 Last night marked the end of our Therapeutic Riding Summer Sessions 🎉

💙 We want to say a HUGE thank you to all you who were involved!

💙 Thank you to all of our riders for showing up, working hard and smiling through every challenge thrown their way - you are all so very strong!

💙 Thank you to all of our volunteers for showing up week after week in the heat to support our riders - we couldn’t run our programs without you!

💙 Thank you to the parents, guardians and support staff that help get our riders to our facility safely - we couldn’t run smoothly without your commitment!

💙 Thank you to the wonderful people and organizations that donate to us to support riders and the purchasing of equipment - we appreciate your kindness and generosity!
