Fredericton Therapeutic Riding Association Enhanced learning through equine therapy for children and adults with varying abilities.

The Fredericton Therapeutic Riding Association is a subset of CANTRA (Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association), which is a registered charity that promotes challenge, achievement and empowerment for children and adults with disabilities through the use of the horse. Horseback riding promotes mobility, coordination and balance for individuals with physical disabilities by promoting muscle toning an

d strength, as well as helping to improve concentration and improvement of learning skills - and above all the development of self-confidence and motivation!

🌷 Learn about the programs we offer, how you can become involved and what volunteering could look like for YOU!

✨Meet Riley✨

💙Riley is the president of the FTRA! She has been part of our programs for over 10 years now and her experience shows in her knowledge and leadership every session!

💙 When asked what she enjoys most about the FTRA, she said “what I love most about the FTRA is how heartwarming it is to see these kids come and have so much fun. I have seen kids start when they were 4 years old and are now teenagers still in the program and it improving every bit of their quality of life. I love being part of an organization that is helping our youth and adults in ways traditional activities couldn’t!”

💙 A fun fact about Riley:
Outside of the FTRA she loves teaching lessons and she is the wonderful Mom to two amazing kids, she also loves to hope on a horse herself when she gets the chance!

✨Meet Rebecca✨

💙 Rebecca is our Programs Coordinator and Social Media Manager! She has been a volunteer for the FTRA for 4 years!

💙 When asked what she enjoys most about the FTRA, she said “I honestly love everything this association stands for. The volunteers, the riders, and the families create such a unique sense of community where everyone is so supportive and is always pushing you to be the best you can be. Watching the riders confidence grow and encouraging them to develop new skills is so rewarding!”

💙 A fun fact about Rebecca:
Outside of volunteering with the FTRA, Rebecca is a full-time psychology student, and she loves to read and spend time with friends!
