📣 Announcement to community 📣
The health centre is very pleased to make you aware that we have a new family doctor. This is part of the NB Family Health Team initiative to ensure that people have access to a family doctor in the communities in which they live.
Dr. Clelland has many years of experience in family medicine, mental health and addiction treatment and holistic medical services. She has worked in Indigenous communities throughout BC and she has recently moved to NB. She is here in Bilijk to provide medical care as a family doctor three days per week.
This is in addition to our existing Nurse Practitioner services as well as Dr. Arsenault.
For clarification, Dr. Arsenault sees clients one day a week for sudden medical needs that arise that need attention when people have had no family doctor or NP, or if the need can’t wait long periods to access their usual primary providers. He will continue to see clients here one day per week in this capacity however he does not provide that longer term consistent medical care to a roster of patients as a family doctor does.
This new service is provided for the following:
- anyone living in community who DOES NOT have a family doctor or Nurse Practitioner.
- any band member who DOES NOT have a family doctor or NP who is living outside the community but is within driving distance in order to come here to access her services.
- any community member or band member who is NOT a patient of NP Trina Cluney because her patients remain under her care without change.
- anyone who has seen Dr. Arsenault in the past but does not have a family doctor therefore they can see Dr. Clelland going forward.
If you or your family are in need as described above, please call the health centre 506-363-4001 during office hours Monday - Thursdays 8:30-4:30 to make an appointment. Please be patient with us while we get things properly set up to serve you best and support Dr. Clelland in setting up her practice here.
We are very happy to be able to improve health for individuals, families and community through these services.
