We wanted to take a minute to thank all the volunteers yesterday who made our summer solidarity BBQ a success. If it was not for all the members who helped set up, cooked the food, served the food, ran the tie dye station and clean up this event would not have been as successful as it was.

It was great to see many new faces out coming out and being social outside of the workplace, retirees who have not seen in years and seeing many members out with their family enjoying the beautiful day.

Thank you to Mrs. Sarah Face Painting Painting for the amazing face painting you did for kids and a few adults.

Thank you to the staff at the Ingersoll Key Putt keeping things moving fast for the community and our members.

Thank you to Meg Farraway Photos who was the photographer for the day once we get our pictures will be throwing them up on our social.

On August 28, It's Morphin' Time! National Power Rangers Day officially recognizes the original "teenagers with attitude" and celebrates all things Power Rangers!


In 1993, five ordinary teenagers exploded on the pop-culture scene with the launch of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Together they broke down barriers. They defeated evil by demonstrating teamwork, inclusivity, and diversity to people of all ages. Today, this grand tradition continues as new Ranger teams and new generations of fans discover these essential values again.

On National Power Rangers Day everyone gets to be a Power Ranger! What are your Ranger skills and abilities? Do you have super strength or enhanced memory? Maybe your talent hasn't been discovered yet. That's ok! Nor does it matter where you live or who you are. With discipline, mindfulness, and heart, anyone can become a Power Ranger. Ultimately, the goal is calling your friends, color coordinating and celebrating the day!

NATIONAL WOMEN’S EQUALITY DAY

Every year on August 26, we commemorate this right with National Women's Equality Day. The United States Congress passed the 19th Amendment to the Constitution granting women full and equal voting rights on this day in 1920.

Birth of a Movement
While in London at the World Anti-Slavery Convention 1840, several women were denied access to the convention floor planting the seeds for a women's rights movement. Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Staton, along with Martha Wright, Mary Ann McClintock, and Jane Hunt, set in motion plans for the first woman's rights convention in Seneca Falls, New York. Held at Wesleyan Chapel on July 19-20, 1848, the conference drew 200 women on the first day. On the second day, the convention opened to men, and some did attend.

NATIONAL ROLLER COASTER DAY

Each year on August 16, people flock to amusement parks for a thrill, a few exciting screams, and to celebrate National Roller Coaster Day. Take a ride on a roller coaster near you.

The oldest roller coasters are believed to have originated from the so-called “Russian Mountains.” Built-in the 17th century, these specially constructed hills of ice located near Saint Petersburg, Russia rose between 70 and 80 feet in height. Passengers faced 50-degree drops. Wooden supports supplied reinforcement.
