D-Day is June 6 on the National Day Calendar and we are honoring those who fought on the beaches of Normandy, France.

This historical day is a reminder of the day troops of Allied forces staged one of the most pivotal attacks against Germany during World War II.

Our local will also support the CAF and have the utmost respect for our Veterans not only the ones that came home but the ones that gave the biggest sacrifice who lost their lives on the beaches on this day.

NATIONAL DOUGHNUT (DONUT) DAY

Each year on the first Friday in June, people participate in National Doughnut or Donut Day. This food holiday celebrates the delicious doughnut and honors the Salvation Army Lassies. In case you didn't know, the Salvation Army Lassies are the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during WWI.

This is just a fun day to enjoy some donuts with friends.

June is Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈, and our union is recommitting to justice and dignity for all.

“We are witnessing increasing attacks in both the United States and Canada on the rights of marginalized people, depriving many in our societies of their fundamental freedom to live their everyday lives without fear and oppression,” said USW International President David McCall.

“It’s on us, as labor activists, to stand up for workers who have the most to lose.”
